Web Africa ADSL general feedback

I need help with the payment methods... When I am on the accounts page I see only options for credit or debit card, but we do not run debits from our cards. The debit order will need to be setup via the bank.

Does web Africa make provision for this?

You can also EFT if you prefer:

It's a bit more effort, you need to upload proof of payment each time, but the upload is via the Customer Zone which is quite easy.
 
Not the best clientzone in the world, when I click on upload proof of payment I get a blank page that says: "Account not found"

Use your credit card, that's the easiest painfree way, cheque cards don't work.

Isn't that what's he's asking for? I also have my internet paid by debit order. If I didn't have that option I'd find another ISP that did offer it.
 
I'm on 20MB, and need some advise.
Usage can vary from 500GB to 1TB a month, ranging from Xbox One games and NZB files mostly and currently on AH Business.
There is no streaming, since AH cannot do that.

I've read the last few pages, but just need to get an idea of what package would be good for me?

Capped 300 or 400GB + unlimited 12-6 data. I don't know what my 6-12 usage is, so can adjust this accordingly.
Is there any value in looking at their uncapped offerings for 20MB?

You have very high usage. You'd have to look at business uncapped AND schedule stuff for midnight. If you can schedule stuff for midnight though you'll never be shaped.

I'd say just look at the 400GB capped account.

The unlimited midnight GBs is only a promo. Next month the 400GB capped account will give you 800GBs for night.
 
Can anyone help me? Since moving to WA my speedtests show 50% my line speed, this is confirmed by my downloads. This is only until about 5pm then returns to normal. I am on Capped Home, but I thought this package does not get shaped?

Post your line stats before 5. Speedtest should always be full speed. Torrents get shaped on home capped before 5.
 
Line stats show fine and so do traceroutes. Ok so torrents I can understand, but even normal downloads are like 50% speed. But speedtests?

Speed test should always be full speed. Something isn't right. Maybe pop them a mail or send a message to the Web Africa helper on the forum.

Yeah, even the 800GB at night would be a killer. The 400GB capped seems king, at R1199 per month it's cheaper than the equivalent business uncapped account and both have the same 12-6 download dance.

I understand the home uncapped is the bottom of the barrel in terms of shaping and performance, but is it really noticeable for NZB, VPN and http downloads during office hours? (i.e. when you have to work from home and VPN in)

Home uncapped will stay unshaped unless you download a lot during the day. If you keep your big downloads for midnight then home uncapped will work for you.

The business uncapped just let's you download a lot more during the day before being shaped.

Thank you. I think I will try the 400GB capped, and then once I have experience on how my usage fits into that I see if I need to swop over to the uncapped versions.
