@WebAfrica Helper

I know you guys can't please everyone but have you considered adding more capped packages, it jumps from 120GB at R399 to 200GB at R599, why not have them follow up like the smaller packages started, having the next logical step be 150GB at R499.

Thanks for the suggestion Soul Assassin. I have passed this onto our our ADSL product team and hopefully we can add some more packages.

Anyone else having issues in the Randburg area, seems to have been dead from around midnight, still cannot authenticate. Modem log just says: timeout waiting for PADO packets...
Seems to be on my backup ISP account too, will log a call with Telkom just in case.

No known network issues at the moment Howardb. Give our team a call on 0860 009500 so they can check things out for you.

So i am thinking of jumping ship from Afrihost to WA. What is quality like? Or more, I mostly use netflix. How is the netflix streaming on WA?

Glad to hear you considering us Prof.Merlin :) Streaming works very well on our capped accounts.

Try out our free 2GB capped account and see how it performs here (just move slider to the free account)

Webafrica, Im now an unhappy customer after years of not having a single issue. You guys just go ahead making changes to the packages without consulting us and now when I look at my Client usage area, I have about double the amount of 12-6 bandwidth now available to me. It used to be 190gb but now its 360gb.

Now I can understand that you need to cater for a wider consumer base now compared to before, especially since general bandwidth usage is up in comparison but what the heck am I going to do with all that data now? I cannot get the full usage from that service now and feel inadequate as a downloader.

/sarcasm off

Thank you WA :)

Sorry about that Surv0, we really didn't want to make you feel inadequate in any way :D

Thanks for the feedback.

I just started on a Home Capped Pro account, mainly because I stream from a couple international providers and I see the priority is gold -> very high for audio and video streaming.

My question is, does WebAfrica put in priorities based on streaming providers explicitly, eg: Hulu, Netflix, Youtube? Or do you "sniff" the packet to determine it should be high priority?

Thanks

Hi AdrianH,

We use a Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) to check which protocol to assign the data to and don't do it on a provider basis.

I hope this actually happens, I have 2 months left with my current ISP and if you add the missing packages I will be there.

This is permanent change, not a promo, so you will get the new allocation of DL+ gigs every month :D

Ag lekker man! This just after I got my Sickbeard and Couchpotato sorted with my sabnzbd ( thanks Fanie ! ) I love the sight of that little router light going nuts when I walk through the lounge at 5:30 am...
