Hi,

The Home Uncapped requires more management from a customer's side than a capped, you need to schedule all your downloads for the Download Plus period (12-6am daily) and monitor your star rating to ensure you stay out of the de-prioritised rating. Moreover, if your account gets de-prioritised during business hours: you'll need to lower your usage drastically for about 4 - 5 days and your star rating will be adjusted by the system accordingly.

The star rating is determined by the system over a 10-day-rolling-over period and there's no specific amount a customer is required to use over 10 days.
Thank you for the feed back, but i told the husband this and he says there is no option to schedule downloads with his xbox 1,(that he knows of, if anyone can enlighten him..thanks :P) and its abit ridiculous to expect him to stay up until midnight every night so he can start his downloads...besides the fact,we currently have 2 x xbox 1, 1 x xbox 360 and a ps 4 connected to our network, these are downloading ligit downloads that we pay for...the one game (forza something whatever) was 40gbs alone....we are still sitting in the red one star with bad speed and line drops. We have actually not, since we have moved over to webafrica, downloaded one torrent,( that i know of..i downloaded Downton Abbey in Jan already :p ) ffs, we pay R1100 for the privallege of a decent internet service every mnth but get throttled/ "capped" etc etc...its annoying. And Btw, the husband spent 15 mins of his time on your live support just asking for general help and resetting of ports etc the other day, only for the guy to disappear for 10 minutes and then he got "disconnected".

You can't schedule Xbox One downloads. You either need to get another package, or move to another ISP.

WebAfrica has always been good as long as you can fit into the 12-6 segment.

Arrgg..thanks...this is what flucks me off..when i signed up with WA, i told the sales guy exactly what we have on our network re xboxes etc and asked what was the threshold on a 10mg line(he couldnt tell me).and he said this package will be fine etc blah...and within days we were throttled. Sadly, its my fekking problem because the account is in my name and i dont have to explain how annoying this is when all i use the internet for is Mybb and browsing facebook. But i have a bunch of guys moaning at me like its my fault the internet is bad cos im the only one who can sort it out. Really.....doesnt do my PMS any good. :p

I was on Home Uncapped, it became unusable earlier this year for unknown reasons (was not due to torrents or downloading) so I moved to a 120Gb Business Capped Account which also gives you 480Gb of Download Plus (12 to 6am).

For this month so far I have used 15% of my 120Gb and 0% of Download Plus as I seldom need to download.

You need a package that has good latency for gaming. Calculate how much data you would use for the month and upgrade your account. This process can be done online.

whatwhat put it in a nutshell.

You might want to revisit your website where one of your selling points is that uncapped requires less…

Honestly I'm sick of this BS conditions the ISPs are forcing on users. I'm not singling out WA because they're pretty much all the same.

If you're artificially limiting the amount of data that can be utilised it's capped.

You have no idea how uncapped works in SA.

If you want a completely unthrottled, uncapped account then you need to pay for it. Here you go:

These home uncapped accounts are to make uncapped affordable to the general populace.

You could consider upgrading to Business uncapped. It's really not that expensive.

I'm perfectly aware how SA SPs operate thank you.

At least you're acknowledging that the uncapped accounts home users are being sold aren't actually uncapped - and that's my gripe.

These home uncapped accounts are to make uncapped affordable to the general populace.
lol - affordable to the general populace?

The WA rep stated "The Home Uncapped requires more management from a customer's side" which is at odds with what they are advertising on their site.

Ok let's word this differently. You get what you pay for. If you pay cheap, you get cheap.

I always want to know, the people that complain about uncapped being slow because they have downloaded > 300GB blah blah blah - are those legal downloads or are they pirated movies, series, music, etc? Anyone that complains when doing something illegal should have their head read and be taken out back and pistol whipped. If it's legit downloads then fine, complain away.

Stop this crap. 300GB you can get quite easily with legal methods. That someone always have to jump on the piracy brigade is why we are stuck in this crap situation - most people in SA still think that if you use more than 3GB of data a month you have to be an abuser.

Sorry to burst your bubble but you can do 100GBs of Netflix for just 1 person. Never mind if multiple people are watching. Then add in two games you bought on a Steam sale and 300GBs is very easy without piracy.

Business is NOT worth the money. I can get better capped for the price that performs better too. Webafrica capped free account get youtube to play 720p then on business 144p. I guess I should upgrade again right?

F that better isp's out there and I have decided to move on

You clearly didnt read the post where i said we have not downloaded one torrent since we have been with WA, im not complaining because i cant download series or movies, my family..besides paying for games online, pays for an uncapped service. Our previous usuage with Telkom was in region of 500gb on a 10mg line(we never got throttled etc, we just left because of the pathetic service and down time)..which I dont really think is excessive considering the size of some of these games that are downloaded...Forza was 40gbs alone.

Ive looked at the business accounts but my people have told me to put in our notice with WA so I have to send the Dear John letter month end and start again looking for a new isp. This time i will do my homework properly and want transparency when dealing with these sales people...else will not sign up with them! And i think Ive biatched enough about WA now :p
