Hi Good day
Beginning of the year I moved to a new area Westville, I requested my ADSL line to be moved to the new area and noticed that I do get full fiber there so I applied for fiber from WebAfrica at the same time.
The problem is Telkom now are saying they cant offer me ADSL in that area, they are prepared to do fiber and do the installation tomorrow if I sign up with them, I told them that I already signed up to them via web Africa, and it should show on there system.
Sadly it doesn't, according to them Web Africa never made the application.
Now I am stranded?
Is there any way you can assist, I am fairly confident you did the application, they have technicians available and according to them the installation never takes them more than a week after they receive the application.
Can you let me know if there is anything I can do , or if I should cancel my application with Webafrica and go with Telkom, which I do not want to do due to the 24month contract.
I am also finding it hard to talk to your support team on the helpdesk , it took them a week to get back to me about basic fiber questions.
Please let me know asap.

Hi Thor187,
We do not supply pro-forma invoices unfortunately. Which services were you looking to take from us? I could ask our Sales team to send you a quotation.
Does anyone know if WebAfrica are shaping/limiting Netflix traffic?
The reason I ask is because I'm currently on a 4MB line (100GB capped account) and I signed up for the 1 month Netflix trial over the weekend and for some reason Netflix refuses to stream anything above SD quality. I did select the standard (HD available) package and changed the playback settings from "Auto" to "High" but I'm still not getting anywhere near 720p.
Most Netflix users I've spoken to say they can easily stream 720p and even up 1080p on a 4MB line so I'm a bit stumped.
It takes a while for the quality to increase as the video is constantly buffering in the background. Only once there's enough buffered will you start to see the quality increase. I'm also rather disappointed by this. I prefer Youtube's high compression 720p to Netflix taking forever to bump you up to high quality feeds. I downgraded my Netflix account to the $8 sub...so only SD for me and stereo sound. Still need to test it out though.
If this is true then I couldn't be bothered any further with Netflix to be honest. Is it possible to pause the video and let it buffer for 5-10 minutes before playback to allow it time to buffer in 720p?
Unotelly is also a necessity for me if I plan to stay on because the content offering is junk....most of those shows/movies I've already seen.
I am on a 4MB ADSL line with Webafrica and a 150GB Capped account. Since this morning I am only getting 512kb speeds. My modem is synced at 4MB. I restarted the modem synced again at 4608 KB but speed is capped to 50kbs. Speedtest reports 0.42Mbps down and 0.46Mbps up. Nothing else is downloading, switched PC off and did speed test on my phone just to make sure.
I have a 8MB ADSL line from WA and the same 150GB account im having the same issues...sometimes im barely hitting 512, been like this for a day nowI am on a 4MB ADSL line with Webafrica and a 150GB Capped account. WebAfrica is all over the fcking place lately. Wonder what's up.

I have noticed in the last few evenings (not last night) total degradation of down load speeds. I will start at full line speed and withing a minute will be down to 35% - 45% line speed if lucky. This is for a news server.
This seems to be regular practice these days
