Only been happening for the last few days - prior to that it was generally 100% line speed.

My frustration is that on the odd occasion that I want to do a DL outside of DL+ hours, it would be great on my capped account to get good speeds.

Anyway it is not life and death stuff :)
 
My connection is crawling right now....struggling to load local sites and overseas sites are just about dead.

Gatvol of this nonsense....cancellation notice submitted. Tired of giving these people my money.
 
After a few years of taking this crap i think today will be my last day with webafrica...who seem to always think that its telkom who is the problem while making me wait 4days without internet when they couldve sorted it out on their end (and making me buy a new modem)...on the 4th day i got hold of one guy who realized that telkom wasnt the issue which i also thought due to the solid green dsl light on my modem...and now not even a full week later my line keeps dropping every 15 minutes until i either restart my modem or wait for it to try to establish a new connection and guess what, its probably telkom again is what they say

Get a free trial account from any other ISP such as Afrihost. If it connects fine, you don't need to buy a new modem.
 
Speeding along at 10% of line speed on business capped.

useless company.
 
News server download speeds - even during Download Plus hours - are (since Sunday) very close to 0 KB/s.

And this on a 20Mb VDSL line ... <sigh>

NB: Also experiencing time-outs

My testing revealed the following:

  • It is almost impossible to login to the news servers - the connection normally times out;
  • If you do manage to establish a connection the download is a trickle.
The WA mail servers were also down this morning.

Maybe I should offer to lend them my unused XP box ? :)

Keep in mind that its IS's news server and not WA's. :)

Absolutely pathetic. May be time to cancel and move on. What's the point of a capped product with a large cap and you can't use it!!!???
