Just as a reminder - one of our upstream providers has scheduled maintenance for tonight between 21:00 - 09:00 tomorrow. This may result in reduced traffic for the non-essential protocols, specifically downloading.
Date: 20 January 2012
Time: 21:00 - 09:00
Duration: 12 Hours
Attending: Network Engineers
Impact: Reduced international capacity, slow downloads, intermittent browser time outs.

ArghIt's the middle of the night, why limit non-essential protocols? Open it up to us dammit, I plan on watching stuff tomorrow!

Pathetic! I barely managed to conduct a FaceTime video call just now. I tried to change my package via the WA web console, but it looks like you can only upgrade, not downgrade (like you can with Afrihost), so I logged a support ticket.I can't even stream an audio podcast.

You guys think we can rename the thread title a little?
Something like - Web Africa General Feedback. Nice to differentiate this thread from the Uncapped Feedback thread.
Just an idea![]()

Capped user - Durban
DL on SABNZNB is "flying" at 35 to 45 KB's (6 meg line with a paid news server); iCloud calender took a few minutes to load.
Now why am I - a capped user - not able to DL at a reasonable speed? This is pathetic as it is running at not even 5 % of the lines capacity. I am paying a premium for a capped account, yet uncapped users are free to DL all day (OK outside of their thresholds).
Whilst I do applaud WA for looking into some areas, I really do feel the capped users are suffering. I have 30 gigs for normal hours - at least give me a reasonable service during office hours.
Edit - spoke too soon as now my speeds are even slower and more like 10 KB's![]()
Which news server are you using?
