Web Africa ADSL general feedback

Has anyone else found that WA's bandwidth monitor is wonky?I managed to get my hands on one of those Redafrica specials so obviously it is key that you schedule your downloads for download+ hours(00h00 - 06h00).I have now found quite a few instances where it says I was downloading at 23h00 - 00h00 or 06h00 - 07h00.I use SABnzbd's scheduler so am 100% confident that I am NOT downloading outside download+ hours!!At this rate I am going to be left with no cap but plenty of Download+ bandwidth :(

@WAJeff please speak to your developers about this and try speed things up as I am still waiting for feedback on a long term solution - I logged a ticket a week ago(will PM you my details).Just to add further to this the support staff have been very good in giving me credits where I have lodged objections but the point is that I don't want to have to continuously log tickets every time.

Heya ajules,

No other reported issues of DSLConsole issues. I'll take a look at your PM now though and escalate onto the devs were possible :)

Not an issue, but I have noticed that there's nowhere to see total usage for previous months, only daily.

Have I missed it somewhere? :o

Note :- i only start downloads @ 12:15 and stop @ 5:45

Edit :-

Wa Keep up the good work account running perfect on my side :-)

Just to play it safe I schedule my downloads for 12.30.am - 5.30.am and yet 550mb has been allocated to the 6.00.am - 7.00.am bracket this morning.I really hope WA can find a solution to this, because logging tickets is getting really tiresome.

Well support at WA have gotten back to me and their solution is to set my downloads to finish at 5.00.am rather than 6.00.am
I now also can only start my downloads at 1.00.am as I have noted instances where my usage in the 0h00-01h00 bracket is sometimes allocated to the 23h00-00h00 bracket.
So to be safe I now only have 4 hours to use a product which is advertised as 6 hours!

Something just broke on the international side, getting 8Mbps on local speed test and 0.02Mbps on international.

Local:
Download Speed: 8478 kbps (1059.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 834 kbps (104.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 69 ms

International:
Download Speed: 22 kbps (2.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 457 kbps (57.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 337 ms

Please be aware that we are experiencing an outage on our ADSL Network.

Date: 5 Feb 2012
Attending: Upstream provider
Impact: Customers may experience increased latency when browsing.

Further updates will be provided as they become available. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Well, there ya go. Time to switch to the old backup again. Seem to doing that a lot these days.

Looks like it is everyone. I tried WA and Afrihost, and I see other forum posts about other providers too.

Anyone know of a provider that works at the moment?

Yep, seems to be affecting Afrihost too. Bah.
