As a temp fix, please use OpenDNS
208.67.220.220
208.67.222.222

We're still investigating the issues. Will keep everyone posted.

Facebook seems to be back up and running again on my end, can you guys confirm?

http://www.zdnet.com/blog/facebook/facebook-is-down-in-europe/10080

Facebook is down in Europe. It’s not clear how widespread the issue is, but I have heard reports from users being unable to access the social network from France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, the Netherlands, Russia, Spain, and the U.K. There has also been whispers of Facebook not working in Egypt, South Africa, and UAE, though these have been harder to confirm.

:-) Hehehe! Good old Internet...Seems to be up now my side.

Edit - verrrrry slow, but seems to be up.

Seems to be a known issue with FB itself. Have a look at the ZDNet link I posted up, seems to be affecting a lot of peeps. Bad timing for the rumours about FB being shutdown on the 15th March, maybe Mark is having some fun :p LOL!

Will keep you guys posted as soon as I have some more info on things.

WA, you have really sucked lately. This time of day is especially bad. You should be bloody ashamed. Pathetic.

LOL @ all the loyal wa fans. change is good, move on and discover the better alternatives.

wa was good back in the day, these days they're just lame.

@Jeff
WA news server - Wednesday morning during DL+ time about 75% of the DL's were via astraweb even though the files were a few days old at most. In addition, speeds were down. I did report this to support who said they had passed on to engineers and have had no feedback since.
This morning all my DL's were 100% from WA news server, but speeds were about 60%.

Are there issues again with news server?

I'm really struggling to get my iPhone and iPad update from Apple using WA Titan account. In the last few days, downloading apps from the AppStore has also become unbearably slow. I'm not sure what the problem is though. Pings and tracert look fine. When using my Afrihost account downloads are about 350KB/s, using WA I'm getting about 80KB/s and periods of zero throughput.

C:\>ping appldnld.apple.com

How interesting - I think on Tuesday after I downloaded an app for my iPhone and it took forever, so would add my voice here.

So...

Brand new uncapped account, not even connected with it for 4 hours... 4mbit/s line, 4mbit/s account... Not once, I have managed to get more than 2mbit/s throughput... And this is in your off peak time?!?!?! I suppose running at 1.5mbit/s to 2mbit/s for less than 4 hours is enough to get throttled?!??!

Heeha. Welcome to WebAfrica... Now the fun begins.

Try a capped account that can't stream a 400 Kbps stream on a 4 Mbps line/account. PATHETIC!

Morning savage,

Can you please drop me a PM with your account details so I can have this looked into for you? You should be seeing much higher speeds than this.

Have you seen my post here? http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...-is-going-on?p=7861557&viewfull=1#post7861557
Would like to have things sorted out for you today.

Just on a side note, the News Server does seem to be fully operational on our end. Did you guys log anything with our ADSL department?

For me it is by no means sorted, and I have logged a fault. I was told no problems, and gave follow up that there are still issues

As an example, this morning over half of my DL during DL+ time happened via astraweb, even though the files are not even 36 hours old. In addition I was operating on 60% line speed.

There was a short window when it was working awesomely a week or two ago

We dont want to as take days to weeks to get back to US.

my last issue took 7 days to resolve....
