Web Africa ADSL general feedback

And to think I switched from SAOL to WA to get away from problems like this. :D

and this is why I still keep a telkom account.

Afrihost free gig FTW! Perfect backup account.

Thanks Jeff. Well I had to move to Afrihost to be able to read that :) Also, WA Support still has not let me know if there is a problem since I mailed them this morning. With Afrihost, I spend half the money for double the bandwidth with them, but I would think the overall speed should be consistently better than them. I am starting to think my Business Uncapped was a bad idea, as a slower service seems to be becoming the norm :(

Thanks for the update Jeff. Please keep us posted. So no raiding this week...

Feel free to roll-over my un[able to be]-used bandwidth to next month if you like. ;)

Outage seems to be resolving (websites are loading now), whew!

So sorry about the outage today everyone. It was resolved at around 4:40pm (http://www.webafrica.co.za/status/)

This is definitely not good enough for Web Africa's service levels - Some serious retrospecting in store for us to ensure that we do better for our customers.

Question is have WA fixed the gaming Laytency issue?

Will test tonight, holding thumbs

Web browsing and downloading seems to have stabilized. Let's hope the issues of the past few weeks get resolved. August has definitely not been WAs best month but I trust that they will fix all.

Were ALL of the accounts affected, or only the cheap ones? I sorta understand my 30gb R199 not getting priority, but what about the R2.5k / R5k per month Business Class Priority accounts - were they also affected?

Yea I think they TRIED to make it better but I even get DC'ed just standing in a big city, and MASSIVE spikes. Have to say its worse!!
