If I might ask, why was something like this not implemented from the start? It's a pretty big oversight.

I have no idea dude. I spoke to Jeff about this several times in the past. I've tried to make my contribution to them. They're always too busy doing something else though. "In the works" and "On the list"... I sometimes wonder what their Dev's really are doing, especially when there's an "update" to their client area and it breaks something.

Be that as it may, I'm not a WA client anymore, I keep 1 prepaid local only bandwidth there just to check if my exchange is going wonky or not. Other than that. Nothing. Been trying to get them to change several things since 2008 now, things that would benefit them and help them, deaf ears.

So kids, as a lesson from uncle Acid. this is what happens when a company gets bought by someone else (or "invested" in). I'm sure the only reason why they're slow to react and why they make decisions like this is because of shareholder-red-tape-bull****. That and most probably incompetent staff that has no clue that a maintenance window period affecting their clients would actually cause some backlash, especially if you posted in some obscure place nobody will ever check that there will be one.

Wow just contacted their live support as i'm cancelling my uncapped Data account. They inform me that if I cancel my data they will charge me R325 for the line instead of R200 like they have been doing, that's a 63% increase... this is because the line isn't bundled with data anymore. I inform them that I have other data accounts with them I just want to cancel the one so I still have data not just a line. Nope take the R125 increase buddy. So then I realize I will have to cancel all my accounts and line with WA as they've lost the plot and they've lost me as a client. I've had some sort of WA account since the "all you can eat" days. They really used to be the best... wow they really are the absolute worst now :crying:

That's a dick move. I'd understand if you closed all your data accounts, but if you close only one they still charge you more than double?

Things are NOT looking good for WA lately. They're fast plummeting out of the public's favour.

The line discount applies to the uncapped accounts and to their capped accounts at a lower rate (assuming he's on the correct packages). R100 for uncapped and R50 for capped. But yeah... to keep the line there and nothing else is expensive.

No no i'm absolutely fine with them increasing the price a bit because I cancelled a bundled product. I just expected them to change the line fee to what everyone else is charging R250-R279 for 1mb why do they have to go all out and now charge R325 is above me. Even Telkom is cheaper! :wtf: You know you're doing a terrible job if Telkom beats you on price seriously! :sick:

Yes I agree with you, it's whacked. Rather move the line back to Telkom.

Ah, yes, I misunderstood how it worked. Even so, that's still way overcharging. That's between R56 and R75 more than the other ISPs are currently charging. :eek:

Anyone else having connectivity issues? I have been on hold for 8 minutes to support, so am assuming there are issues. I can stream internet radio; cannot download mail via outlook; browsing very slow; am having some limited DL's.

Anyone picking up packet loss issues and spikes on online games i.e. WoW, even though latency is low?

Level3 is notoriously bad with packet loss for online gaming, not sure why the route is going through them :S

I dont get this on my Axxess account at all...

I dont get this on my Axxess account at all...

Same for me. Have had a ticket open on this for two weeks now and it's just as bad still.

My stats for DL from news servers during DL+ hours. WA 241 K; Astraweb 7.1 gigs. :( Oh, files a few weeks old at best.

I should be getting 12 gigs (give or take a bit) on my 6 meg line. Astraweb is set up as the back up server. Have sent another mail to support - not holding out much hope.

been haveing endless isssue's with my account on the phone with them now and was told to discount the Session they testing the account.....

even d3 over the week end got 2000 ms ping to the usa sever , dial telkom or IS account 430 max

Browsing and youtube has been bad for me the past two days. But right this moment I am downloading an international file at my full line speed.
