Web sQuad ISP - Feedback Thread #2

We are making some adjustments this side to allow for our radius server to dish out the IP pool. It seems the wrong pool has been handed out. Our team is making adjustments.

Do we need to change anything on our side ?

A strange side effect of the IPv6 problem is that Spotify on Android TV plays without audio.

@websquadza did something change with IPv6? Previously I got a /56 with dhcp, but now only a /64.

Also while the address assigned to the outside interface via rtadv is routed properly, the subnet received via dhcp does not work past the first router:

# traceroute6 -Il -s 2c0f:f030:203:637:dd:e7ff:fef7:850a websquad.co.za
traceroute6 to websquad.co.za (2c0f:f030:6040:2::75) from 2c0f:f030:203:637:dd:e7ff:fef7:850a, 64 hops max, 20 byte packets

Please check on this again, it should show up correctly now

Another thing that I noticed was that I stopped receiving router advertisements. I don't know if that was intended. The last one was at 17:16 yesterday:

Hi There

I am just checking to see if wacs is fixed yet and if so, are we going to be moved back onto it, as since Thursday, international traffic to the UK, has not been great and we have some very odd pathing to the Uk.

we've been on Equiano primarily since before the break, shouldn't be any impact in either way. Send me a trace for odd paths please

RA isn't really necessary with prefix delegation. With our new IP management system, we can manually set either or if you require RA?

Apologies for the delay here, I know engineering is making a few changes on routes. I'll confirm if this is sorted asap.

Evening

Every evening now, we keep getting disconnected from random game servers in the EU, multiple ones, tonight i managed to grab a mtr, but this happens every evening, not just to one

I've also noticed terrible packet loss and rubber banding when gaming on EU servers lately, funny enough US East servers are more stable with higher ping, something hasn't been right with international connectivity for over a week now. Also noticed degraded YouTube performance today, buffering earlier

Odd part is I can hotspot to my phone and it all goes away

Route looks fairly clean. Looks like the Equiano route is in play (+- 134ms from CPT to marseilles) and on via Paris. Will take a look and see if we can steer this in a different direction this side.

Any kind of IP or trace would really help narrow this down. Transit paths are congestion free, plenty of spare capacity with WACS back in the mix. Wondering if it's not a funky return path issue. @Zodiak weird you mention Youtube, nothing being offloaded to transit and no issues peering side. Will dig a little deeper.

I don't need RA. It was just a change I noticed.

The broken IPv6 routing is the real problem. :-)
