I haven’t checked http downloads, I don’t often download, I usually stream RD through TV Zion on my Shield TV and never had an issue till today.

I can run speedtests but I can see and feel through experience that my internet is slower then usual.

Just doing a little troubleshooting. We're both on a vuma line at the moment (trenched vs aerial though) and working from home levels that playing field - no fancy dedicated office line to test on. Today's issue was a wonky router in JHB (basically it was dropping packets instead of passing them on to the correct edges) - it may have even started mis-behaving earlier. Now that it's out of the equation, things *look* back to normal. Packet loss is gone and speeds and latencies to our usual metric servers (all offnet, none peering, all reputable cloud providers that aren't Microsoft, Google and AWS) are looking good. We can't test to every server in the world, so we need a little feedback to see if and where the issues are.

That said, a good test of RD performance is HTTP downloads - when that loads well, it follows that streaming does too, because they're fed from the same servers. If streaming drops but downloads are good, it's usually a TCP/MSS issue. But if HTTP is bad for you, and great for me - chances are it's something between the AEX NNI and your Vumatel Trenched line.

Just checked an HTTP download from RD on my cabled Mac. Getting between 500Mbps to 700Mbps which is good. Streaming however seems to be problematic today. Not sure what to make of this. I’ll wait till tomorrow and see if things resolve.

Thanks for checking. Could be TCP/MSS. Will check if there are any settings we can suggest for your router.

Ok cool but nothing has changed on my side so I don’t know what to tell you. I even rebooted the router to rule that out...

Yeah also having the same experience this evening as yesterday.
Local speedtest reports things are just fine, but speedtest to london CoreIX paints a different picture.
200/200 Octotel, Southern Subs, CPT

Ran these tests directly cabled in just for correctness sake.

Also agree that Speedtests etc seem to report excess of 100mb speeds even internationally, but the experience definitely seems slower than usual.

I seem to have buffering as soon as I set YouTube to 1080p on mobile, however on desktop it seems to stream normally, however YouTube stats for nerds reports about 65mb or so of bandwidth (on deattached) which I've definitely go in excess of 100mb (usually sits around 120mb).

Happy to run any other tests etc that might help find the issue here, definitely seems pretty localised as I was working all day today to services in EU and didn't notice an issue there.

On Vumatel Trenched 200/200 , and to be honest, mine looks the same

apologies for jumping on the bandwagon here, but today my internet has also been a bit wobbly, the issue seems to have started on the weekend albeit not so bad as today,

Seems to still be persisting:

Also having serious problems since about 3pm today:

Table View area btw - this is on a 200/200 line - Ethernet connection.

Can you test to Vumatel handover using a LAN cable? This is definitely last mile or LAN

Test to Vumatel handover - should be no issues at all on local.
