Hi There,

quick question, is there any reason that traffic to AS5713 is routing internationally to come back to SA? its dreadfully slow accessing anything on SAIX

My internet keeps dropping out every couple of minutes, downloads completely stop to 0 mb/sec and websites time out then comes back for a few minutes. Tried restarting the router, same thing....

We tracked this down to an overeager DDOS mitigation rule with our upstream. Specific download was running though download manager and with the MikroTik router, was pushing huge packet volumes to reach line speed. Upstream have relaxed these rules a tad.

These rules are adjusted as we pick up new scanarios and need a little tweaking every now and again.

SAIX have some funny advertisements at times- some prefixes are advertised locally and other not. Telkom ISP (their retail side) prefixes are usually 100%. SAIX specific prefixes are bit hit and miss. Usually just takes an email to their NOC to resolve.

Sheesh something went for a major wobbly on Download side - Vuma Trenched Fourways

Can feel my brain dying watching this installer download at 100kbps

@websquadza I am currently a CISP client and have been having big issues with logging into COD modern warfare on PS4 for the entire week, I am talking about over an hour each evening just to login. Is Websquad having any simialr issues or seeing these sort of problems with COD. Think it might be time for a move.

I can’t tell you if it's better or worse here (haven't tested). Been seeing some threads on myBB and on the ZANOG mailing lists with regards to Blizzard issues of late, so could also be part of a general issue. That said, happy to test and see if it's better!

Dudes are on the ball. Moved house yesterday and had some trouble with Octotel PPPOE and getting it to work on Mikrotik. Ofcourse the problem was between the keyboard and the chair.

Anyway - Websquad support was answering the support ticket within a few minutes. Sent me detailed instructions on how to fix my idiocy AND for some icing, how to enable IPv6.

@websquadza Pass along my thanks to whomever was on duty this weekend.

Hi @websquadza just following up on this one please if you dont mind?

Anyone else having really inconsistent connectivity for the past hour?
Yeah, hard to put my finger on it exactly, was streaming a presentation just fine for the better part of 1h30, but then I tried to download the latest iOS update and got "7 days remaining" and things like that.
Have noticed some weird buffering on Youtube on occasion in the evenings, but haven't got any conclusive evidence on any of these, so don't want to specifically raise an issue here.
Will try collect some stats/tests if it crops up again.
