Actually I suppose it makes sense the packet loss would affect line speed tests, so not much new to report after all, except that it's still happening :sneaky:

forwarded this through. They did some major maintenance this morning between 4 and 6 am on rondebosch node. Always nice to see it didn’t help:cautious:

I don't know what they did but it's gone to sh*t honestly.

Looks very much like their first node can't handle that much traffic. I shudder to think what happens when multiple people are online.

Nevermind, as I was typing this, a download suddenly died in the background and now this:

Either I'm being actively throttled when usage goes over a certain threshold, or their system has gone from bad to worse and is close to dying completely. @websquadza

I've escalated this to their engineering team. And It looks like Octotel were able to correlate this with some results on their side (usually it's just a "we don't see this"). Will have some more feedback later.

Anyone elses internet down? Vumatel trenched Dbn

Looks like it's just us affected. The response I got from my ticket was to reboot the router and CPE which I've already done 100 times

Really need the internet back. It cut me off while I was working.

Suffering quite a bit of buffering these days. Speedtests local and UK are fine but USA and get this.

Yar I'm getting extreme packetloss to cloudfare DNS and buffering on Twitch/Youtube. Seems Octotel related.

Could well be I guess.

Troubleshooting IPTV buffer issues usually always has the same result.

99% of the time its the IPTV provider. They oversubscribe their services heavily.

If you ask them though they will always blame your internet connection so keep that in mind.

Yeah sure but also 33Mbps is rather underwhelming speed for a 1Gbps line. Anyway will see how this goes over the next day or so. But more than likely is IPTV server.

Yes completely understandable.

33Mbps isn't great but rather try do a real download from a number of USA servers and see what sort of speeds you get. Speedtest.net is honestly a waste of time and hardly useful for anything else other than e-peen and troubleshooting really obvious issues ( packet loss ).

You will find though that your IPTV stream maxes out at like 12 to 16mbit so definitely more than enough for an IPTV stream.

So here is the iptv server speedtest, live TV server speed at 21Mbs for what it's worth.
