Looks like a 3rd party link in London (Network layer is a 3rd party network, not on our network or upstream's network). It's been escalated to our upstream who are now reaching out to network layer (seeing as they are peers).




FNO and area please? No core issues on our side.


Can you be more specific?
Mrs was trying to watch, and it kept buffering, and ended with a weird error 200 , checked with her now, apparently its working again

Saw a bunch of Vuma Aerial sessions go down and come back up a little while later. Red LOS on the ONT (from your ticket) indicates an OLT issue (probably a reboot of sorts).
Also vuma aerial. It returned like 5 Min later .. Murphy was just adding excitement to my working from home experience :)

Hi, is there a known issue? I am getting terrible speeds on my 100 Meg connection, North Riding, Evotel (nothing downloading in the background and on direct Ethernet cable):





Local speed is 10 - 15 megs and International is on 1 meg speed.....

I'm even struggling to stream Youtube at 1080, it keeps dropping the quality to pixelated 360, what is going on????

I just don't understand this. I don't understand why my local speeds are fine but my international speeds are always crap on a 1gb line.

I'd usually say packet loss, but I've noticed things have been a little sluggish today too, and I'm struggling to hit 100mbps on the international speed test on a 200mbps line right now.

I am magically now getting the fastest international result I've seen in a while at this line speed, so I dunno :)

Generally, poor speeds with massive asymmetry like this are packet loss on the FNO side. You can verify by running a MTR - first hop loss after your router means something on the last mile. Probably a bad backhaul or locked up line card (Aerial runs on a meshed DWDM backhaul in JHB, so usually quickly resolved). No network incidents from Vuma on this one, so seems to have come right quickly enough.

Investigating this now. Seems that the Vumatel trenched handover in CPT is giving issues - affecting all Cape Town Vumatel Trenched clients. We've escalated to Vumatel NOC for feedback

Vumatel Cape Town: 15:30 Update: Vumatel are currently experiencing a "Logical Error" on the Trenched Network in Cape Town. All Vumatel Trenched clients in Cape Town are affected by this outage. No ETR or further comms.
