@websquadza

Out of interest (for my own curiosity) why does the routing for cloudflare change in the evening, from CPT to JHB?

This is one of the things I've randomly noticed in SmokePing :)

That’s a good question. This Usually happens when they withdraw the 1.1.1.0/24 and associated DNS prefixes from CPT (we do favour CPT peering for CPT, but we do reflect JHB and KZN paths to CPT). Usually happens when their CPT cluster is under load or sync is out. I haven’t checked to see if they’re withdrawing, or using Argo to send requests to JHB. Will keep an eye open to see.

So I have just placed my order for a 50/50 Vuma effective 1st of Jan.

Will keep everyone posted on my signup experience.

@websquadza - Could you please check on ticket #346241

Everything is supposed to be scheduled for the 30th and with the new invoice and this latest ticket reply, I'm worried there's been a breakdown of communication between departments at Web Squad and whether or not Octotel has actually been notified.

All been sorted. No worries. Billing forgot to mark your service as ended. But it has been processed.

@websquadza - just a question about IPv6:

How long does the IPv6 prefix that is allocated to you last for? How often is it refreshed?
Does it persist across PPPoE reconnections, or do you get a new one everytime your PPPoE connection reconnects?

We keep these allocations as sticky as possible. Default lease ages are 7 days, and will renew to the same prefix if requested during that window. Generally we don't see IPv6 delegations changing for clients. We also offer the option of a static IPv6 allocation (at no cost), on request.

Happy New Year everyone

Did International traffic die out for anyone else?

Its back now , but was dead for about 5 min
