Seen any improvement here?
Not sure if it’s just me but my internet seems down
We're looking into it.Is KZN down again?
Seems to be working again. ThanksWe're looking into it.
Update: Can you guys check again?
Post traces and IPsHi, I need some advise please. So I've been playing Tarkov on Singapore servers yesterday and this morning and was getting 120 - 130ms ping which is playable and below their ping limit of 165ms. The SA servers are quiet at the moment and using Mudfish or ExitLag this was working beautifully. However, all of a sudden since early afternoon the ping through these VPNs to Singapore has shot up to 180 and won't go any lower than that which means I can't use this with Tarkov anymore. What could have changed with the SAFE routing that prevents me from getting the best route possible and what solutions can I use to get this stable at the possible 120ms ping?
Could be peering change, we were getting 130ms to Singapore Apex server and now i started playing again and im getting 220ms, route changed and now when they pickup the traffic in JHB it's going via a different route which is longerHi, I need some advise please. Anyway to control the routes via VPN or something similar? Trying to figure out how to play permenently on Singapore servers without these swings in JoburgCould be peering change, we were getting 130ms to Singapore Apex server and now i started playing again and im getting 220ms, route changed and now when they pickup the traffic in JHB it's going via a different route which is longer
These swings wouldn't be happening in JHB. We're still picking up the likes of Exitlag and Mudfish (both locally peered) in JHB from what I can see. And our own transit path still looks pretty good (compared to the 260ms one would usually see to Asia). Looking at Eastbound paths, I see an increased latency towards Asia, which likely means an issue on SAFE (the only direct path to Asia from this part of the world). Our upstream also has paths towards Asia that run via the East Coast towards North Africa/Middle East and onwards to Asia, which is likely where we and the gaming VPNs of the world are now with +- 180ms to Singapore (testing to a Vultr server we keep tabs on). You can check the cable systems here to better understand how packets physically get to Singapore - https://www.submarinecablemap.com/Anyway to control the routes via VPN or something similar? Thank you, so likely a SAFE issue today that will probably resolve? I do use the Singapore Vultr node in fact on Mudfish, the node was at 180 to 200ms ping this afternoon and then completely disappeared from Mudfish nodes list by this evening, not sure if related or if ghere is an outage of some sortThese swings wouldn't be happening in JHB. NLDs to JHB have both been back in full operation since Friday, and path to CPT up since this morning. Have you got any traces we can look at so we can see where your issue is?@websquadza are the KZN paths still giving issues? Been constantly dropping the whole weekend and this is quickly going from just annoying to an actual problem for me. The week had me constantly being dropped from work meetings and the weekend getting kicked out of online games every hour or so. Is there perhaps an end in sight for this or is this going to be an on and off thing?
Yeah, these issues are usually quickly resolved (I hope this isn't a major break, can't see any announcements yet). The unfortunate side effect of a single direct path to Asia is that we see big jumps in latency when that path is down.Thank you, so likely a SAFE issue today that will probably resolve? Thanks, seems to be an isolated issue then. I'll start an MTR and post back when line drops.NLDs to JHB have both been back in full operation since Friday, and path to CPT up since this morning. Have you got any traces we can look at so we can see where your issue is?

Check my edit above. But MTRs will help us diagnose the delayed switchovers. Thanks, seems to be an isolated issue then. I'll start an MTR and post back when line drops.
