What was the issue?

Apologies for the delayed feedback here. A routing issue was induced by one of our downstream transit clients who leaked a routing table, resulting in massive amounts of unsolicited traffic flooding through their network, and in turn our network, in JHB - we've spent the day implementing measures to protect against this kind of leak in the future. The immediate fix was to withdraw their prefixes and filter their traffic (which is how we brought it under control as soon as we picked up what the issue was, and bring them back up as quickly as possible. We're also planning on moving them to another PE shortly.

Just seen Websquad have added the following FNOs to their list:

Just waiting on FF to see pricing but pricing on those looks very decent, esp Lighstruck 500<>500 @ R1500

Whoops. MFN isn’t live yet- slightly trigger happy website update.. Will get that pulled off. Apologies here. Will make an announcement about MFN and FF launches ASAP. There’s been massive demand and we’re working to get these up ASAP.

Thanks again! Always appreciate the input.

Yeah, we’re hoping to be live in time for some big go-lives on both networks. It’s been too long in coming now. Will provide more updates soon.

Is there any chance of Web sQuad providing test accounts on Openserve? I wouldn't mind trying out your network on the new packages. :)

I also see on the website under the new Openserve packages the word 'Uncapped' is repeated twice.

@websquadza in the market for a new provider. Spoke to some lady and she wasnt sure about MF with websquad although it is listed on your site. Is it official with Metro now? Any chance there is a test account I can try before I choose to move?

As mentioned above, this was an over eager update to the website yesterday - we have since updated it to reflect coming soon. We are in the process of finalising this with MFN and will update as soon as it's ready to go live. Unfortunately, with most FNOs (openserve excluded), test accounts aren't possible because services are provisioned on an ISP's VLAN - this means that our PPPoE credentials won't work on ISP 1's VLAN. We can assist with a VPN account to test our services (most ISPs hand over at peering points, so this is a *fairly* accurate equivalent to a test account with a few ms added). DM me for a test account.

just so know, i'm not commenting a lot because - within reason - my experience is pretty good. but in case no one is saying it, i'm going to: this kind of feedback and responsiveness is a breath of fresh air.

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Agreed!

@websquadza new COD patch... Another 40gb... Crawling at like 100kbps.

Friend on Vox getting 5mbps

Edit: Ah has increased to 2mbps. So probably intermittent bursts.

Remember everybody is also downloading it. So server taking strain
Yeah COD's literally throttled/congested on their CDN side

You can try a VPN to use USA vs Europe and see how the other CDN handles it
