@websquadza If this is the case then why have international speeds regressed ? I cannot get more than 200Mbps to London on a 1Gpbs line. I am happy to live with atleast half the line speed for international but a quarter or less is not acceptable.

So what is the way forward, is the international speed issue going to be addressed or i should just accept a fraction of my line speed ?

Upstream Maintenance is done. We're still tweaking here and there and will get this sorted.

We forced MSS settings globally, it puts a little extra strain on our hardware, but takes care of your issue. Glad to hear it did the trick. A stream needs very little bandwidth, it's more about the way the packets reach you.
Did anything change. This morning it was smooth, no issues. I didn't watch anything during the day.. things was a bit hectic my side.

This evening it seem to get a few glitches. It's not as bad as over the weekend... but something is problematic again this evening. Seems to do it every 1min to 1min30seconds.

There's no wireshark for android. App also cannot be run on a pc. It's only on the Amazon Firestick or compatible Android Media box. It's just a APK application.

@websquadza ...

Apologies for the late follow up on this one. We're investigating this as we actually implemented a measure to protect against sudden route withdrawals from upstreams late last week and it's held up well.

Did anything change. This morning it was smooth, no issues. I didn't watch anything during the day.. things was a bit hectic my side.

We've been tweaking MSS settings at a few other edge locations on our network. Rolled back that change now. Let me know if you see an improvement?

Looks better now. Yes . It did glitch once or twice . Not 100% like this afternoon but much better. in general it seems better than what it was like around 8pm

Am using P4s, jellyfin plex and emby streames fine for me on shield and phone.

Sometimes it could depend where the iptv services sit, EU being the best location for server etc.
Never heard of these, thanks will check them out.

Thanks for the update. Let me know if the above MSS settings helped you. So far, only applied to CPT transit edge - but will apply to JHB later if everything holds up correctly.
Sorry been in a different province. Returned home last night and before reading this, just changing channels on the iptv service I noticed the channels load faster, so yes definitely and improvement and less buffering thanks

Yes I had this same thing.. Morning's and most of the day is fine and then around 4pm the buffering starts and last for a couple hours then from about 9 10pm it runs smooth again. That was before, will have to monitor has it behaves currently.

And now @websquadza ?

Looks like a very short upstream flap at the CPT hop of their transit from JHB. We’re on their case about this. We implemented some measures to protect our transit during these rapid route changes, but it seems there’s still some work to be done on theirs.

We've been tweaking MSS settings at a few other edge locations on our network. Rolled back that change now. Let me know if you see an improvement?
Seems to be acting up again. Every 5seconds or so.

DSTV now (and GitHub - only other site I was on) was cutting off every few minutes but seems to be fine again now

Stabilised yet? I suspect it may have related to the below - transit's been pretty stable tonight in CPT.

Seems to have been something at NAP CPT, no confirmation yet - saw a couple peering sessions drop around 10-10:02 PM including Microsoft (which carries github traffic). We generally pick up cloud provider traffic in CPT and backhaul to KZN. DSTV hand over on a mix between JHB and CPT.

It's pretty bad at the moment actually
I uploaded a vid if you want to check it out.

I managed to install another player linked it. This one actually shows me a "spinning vlc logo" when it's trying to buffer. Instead of the frame-freeze for 10second like the other apps.

@around 38seconds it drops to 0 and then stops showing the graph and only the Spinning VLC logo
It then pushes heavy data to catchup again

It's suppose to run like the last 20seconds, you can see on the vid it stabilizes and the normal average should be around 5mbit (5000kbps) If that is steady it streams steady

I've updated your ticket with some additional tests please. Want to confirm the line is 100% - I've been through all our messages and we haven't checked the basics just yet.

I must be streaming pretty boring stuff for it to work fine
What's this?

Thanks. I've replied to the ticket with the results.
