Thanks, I've had the USG for a while now and used it for a long time with my RocketNet connection and it's been pretty much flawless with the MTU/MSS settings provided by them.

With Websquad it was definitely screwy with MSS at auto but changing back to my old settings and everything is fine again. Currently testing with the suggested value given above and seems to working fine too.

This is on CPT servers, which is weird because I've never had issues with Steam before - it always used to max out my 200Mbit line and sit at the max speed constantly.

It really depends on our steam server loads. Testing a 1gbps connection is pretty hard given server limitations. I have seen a few people have the same issue. Sadly I dont have a gig line to test :(

Personally I prefer the edgerouter max, with disabled features and offloading.

Seems like it’s affected Vuma Trenched. I’m on Vuma Aerial JHB and mine seems to be ok. This is on a 1 gig line. I would expect my speed to be higher and my ping to be lower though.

EU transit looks good. Looks more isolated to specific peering points on the LINX fabric (given the slightly higher ping we are seeing). For example, our Digital Ocean test server looks great. Coreix doesn't, but other speedtest servers in the UK (not as reputable as Coriex) look good. We've sent a ticket upstream to see if they can isolate how Coreix traffic is reaching us and tweak that a tad. Unfortunately, Coreix don't host a looking glass (that I know of), which would be great to see return path (download path).

Downloaded 9GB off the CPT server at line speed (200mbps) last night - didn't fluctuate at all. So I reckon it's a Steam issue and/or South African servers reaching capacity sometimes.

Definitely some type of capacity issue on steam side. When i switch to the belgium server im able to get 60-70MB\s.

Vuma announced annual line rental increases again. So no luck there.

With regard to Openserve, this article jumped the gun and for all ISPs. So official commercials to follow in due course.
