I have a question for @websquadza and anyone else who can answer me.
How do you handle access to the fibre infrastructure when a tenant is evicted or absconds. I have had a scenario where I evicted a tenant and when the new tenants moved in we were not able to get him signed up due to the previous tenant still owing money to their ISP. Neither Vumatel or the tenants ISP were willing to release the line to me or the new tenant until somebody settled the outstanding ISP account.

There is a circuit release process that Vumatel has implemented. This will require a proof of address, and usually takes 72 hours and the link will be released. Previous ISP cannot hold onto the link if there is clear proof that the tenant has changed (using the POA). You're welcome to chat to the FTTH team if you need more clarity on the exact process. Let me know if you want me to ask them to call you.

Just get a new line installed? That way you make it their problem? The old line had nothing to do with you ? Or am I being too simplistic?

We just moved offices (but not due to non payment, etc) and we just cut the old fibre (cos the landlord wanted us to return the site back to normal) . It's gonna be up to their new tenant to go through the schlep of getting it.

Generally the address can only be associated to 1 customer, unless you "subdivide" with unit numbers or the like

Thanks. I did ask yesterday and am still waiting for an answer.
You are much quicker than them. :)

I deal with WebsQuad so I never have to deal with Vumatel / Openserve / Metrofibre etc ever again. Those guys are truly useless.
I cannot get a new line installed as its in a sectional title complex, which makes it even harder to do anything. Maybe I must get prepaid Fibre then I can deny service when the tenant misbehaves. Mmmm...

Vuma have issued a major outage NWI for CPT just a few minutes ago. Teams are investigating. No ETR or details provided yet.

Edit: NWI updated for Welgelegen 1, 2 & 3 areas
Edit 2: NWI marked as resolved

Please submit a ticket if you are still down on Vuma trenched in CPT
Rinse and repeat tonight it seems

My connection keeps dropping while I am on Teams calls, can't even open Speedtest.net say site cannot be reached....

Please try get a MTR/pingplotter when this happens, use 8.8.8.8. I suspect a local/last mile issue, but will help to narrow it down and get it escalated correctly.

Same happened with me earlier.

I thought it was Vuma issue so went to look at the CPE - didn't manage to grab any diagnostic data.

Yeah mine is also stable now so can't run any tests
You're both on opposite ends of the country, on separate peerings with Microsoft. Try grab a trace if you can please.

Edit: All good so far - must've been an issue on MSFT's side?

Glad to hear MSFT issues are sorted. We're working thorough troubleshooting with Google. We can't offload v4 to JINX just yet, but should be able to later this week. Hopefully that moves us away from the NAP port.
