Why are you guys using the Mybb speedtest instead of the proper one?

Those stats look good.

I've heard the WA rep saythat sometimes it's 15min for a profile to be allocated properly.

Try switching your router off for a min and then do another speedtest.
 
So ... feedback.

My new account just got activated :) Woohoo ... I have 40MBPS VDSL and I'm really happy with the speed so far, will test with my new VDSL router tonight! I have one complaint but I'm scrapping it and cutting my losses and moving on, my R599 data got activated before the 1st of Nov. as I specified and I got charged ... I now have 8 days to use 600GB which I payed for ... which is extremely doable in 8 days with 40MBPS .... Overall I'm happy and optimistic to see what's to come. :D
 
Also moved to WA from afrihost two months ago (both capped accounts, 10Mbs) and it was working fine at the beginning. Now we do not even watch netflix, it is that painfully, I do usual port reset and once in a blue moon it works.
Oddly twice when I complained they also did port reset and it was working for 3 days. Normal downloads work fine.
Netflix after 18:00 just buffers all the time.
Canceled WA and now I have few days to figure out who is next in line.

Yeah, I tried streaming some news in 480p last night around 9pm and it was dead :(
Switched accounts and no problem. Axxess seems to be bad too, to be honest AH when it worked was great for the longest period.

How does one get good service that lasts ?

Maybe we should start a thread that tracks peoples streaming experience on a provider a over time frame like 0-1 month 1-3 months and so on.
 
So is their capped accounts terribly slow for anyone else today/last night ? Dialup feels faster than this
 
Is there some or other problem with the "Freezone" data? I'm downloading at 280kb/s total on my 40MBPS VDSL line whereas speedtest says my line is performing at 3900kb/s? Anyone else have this problem, is it normal for this bonus data to be slow or is it something that'll pass?

Depends where you are downloading from.

More than likely the place you're downloading from is slow.

Or there's lots of traffic :) My speed has now gone up over the course of half an hour to about 3.3MBPS :) About which I'm not complaining just yet :) (And no, where I download from has more than adequate seeds) I'm just gonna go ahead and attribute this to everyone starting their downloads at the same time -stable out time.
 
I just activated a home capped account and on the site I only see mention of 10Mbps, I want to upgrade my line to 20Mbps but would first like to know if the Home Capped account will run at the 20Mbps? Not VDSL but ADSL, seems my exchange supports it but just want to be sure about the account speed first.

Capped accounts run at line speed. So 20Meg is not a problem.
 
Just cancelled my Afrihost and joined Webafrica! AH gave me 1000ms+ on my traces, where WA was normal!

Please please for sake of my sanity as much as i want to be a client of yours, please offer products without "split data" (day and nighttime data)

Just want say 100GB of anytime data and a cost i can be happy about

Have no idea why you are so bent out of shape on split data? There are ISPs that offer anytime data - Afrihost being the 1st one that comes to mind.

Split data however works out cheaper - you get more - and all for the sake of having to schedule large downloads for after midnight to take advantage of it. This suits my, and I'm sure many others', download and usage habits just fine.

One of the great things about having ISPs to choose from. Go to the one that offers the best package for your needs.

You know any time data is more expensive right?

100GBs anytime from Afrihost is R199
While 40+80 from Web Africa is R149

R50 cheaper for more GBs.

you cannot compare apples to pears.

In reality its 40GB vs 100GB

Most people don't see it like that.

The rest of us set our steam downloads/torrents/nzbs for midnight then wake up to awesome downloads.

Any reason why you can't do that?
