But even if you need 300GBs.

Afrihost 300GBs = R599
Web Africa 200+400 = R599

You just get so much more for the same amount of money.

Not everyone downloads 100+GB of torrents! My typical usage:

30% Streaming (when I'm awake)
20 % General Browsing/updates (I think this is when I'm awake as well)
30% Gaming (stretching it to just before fall asleep, but still I'm awake)
20% Torrents (see below)

Now on my +-80GB of usage this = about 16GB for torrents (let's say it is movies). 1.5GB per HD movie = about 10 movies. Now our typical scenario is this. It is 7pm and we feel like watching a movie. Well since I have a nice 10Mbps per line, I browse what is new and we fancy watching, kick off the download and by 8pm we can watch it.
So this can happen about 10 nights out of the month some weekends we may watch two on a Sunday.

The point is I use the internet when I'm awake because I don't want to start a pirate movie shop in my spare time and by the looks of it there are other people that feel the same. Now take an ISP like WA, they seem to cater for heavy downloaders (which is what uncapped should be for), not for the average guys like me. You might say but the "midnight data" is free or a bonus, but then that makes their standard capped packages very expensive and not competitive. Yes I do get what I pay for, but at the end of the day I decide who I want to pay and what is of value to me.

Well I can point out the error in your thinking right there. Uncapped isn't just for large downloads. Uncapped is so that you can piece of mind and not worry that you're gonna run out of cap half way through the month.

A guy like you should be on a home uncapped account while the rest of on business uncapped.

Maybe not an "error in my thinking" but rather my opinion. Take Crystal Web for instance, the 1st 100GB unshaped and thereafter (possibly shaped) uncapped. So your are saying I should pay R200pm more for this package, just because I might go over my cap maybe 3 times a year, whereas I could just topup with an extra 10GB which I might need in the last 3-4 days of the month??

Crystal Web fusion is a premium account. pricing very close to Web Africa Business. A home account would be best for you.

The Crystal Web example was just to showcase the "overkill" that some ISP's expect "not-so-heavy-users" to have and pay premium for it. The R200pm extra is actually the WA Home uncapped on a 10Mb line that I was referring to.

90 + 180 + line : R699 (because I need more than 60GB but less than 80GB)
10Mbps uncapped + line : R899

By the same argument, you can get Afrihost 200Gb (R399) plus Telkom 10GB Softcap (R99) and then you have 200GB+UnlimitedGB on Night Surfer bandwidth (12am to 7am) for R100 less than WebAfrica's 200gb+400gb.

Here's an idea. One I've put forward before, but will say here again.

As offering capped pages with only any time data would be complicating your product stack unnecessarily rather do this.

When a customer selects a package let them move a slider from less to right changing the allocation of the GBs.

Obviously this would be at a conversion ratio.

So a person could for example take the R39 package that by default is 5+10 and convert all the off peak GBs to anytime GBs or even the other way around. So for R39 a person could get:
5+10
Or
20 offpeak
Or
10 peak

That way everyone can be happy.

Except I would be surprised if the download plus to anytime conversion would be 2:1. More likely 10:1. So 6GB or 5GB+10GB.

Considering, they gave me 50TB free in download plus a few months ago, the conversion ratio might be ∞:1

That was a special promotion so think you ratio is a tad optimistic

I don't see any reason why this should not happen immediately. It's perfect. I would slide mine to the anytime side right now, but there are certainly futures where I can see myself sliding it to the off-peak side.

On an unrelated note, I can't help but point out the difference between this thread and the currently popular MWEB one - try to make it better even though it's well liked by most as opposed to discussing how cancellation works.

as someone alluded to, a 5+10 probably is a 6 or 7 anytime

what people have been saying is that a 100GB anytime unshaped package will not be costed the same as say a 50GB+100GB.

and i suppose what you are saying is that wa (or any other isp) should have a 100GB product. its pricepoint should make you decide which model you prefer.
