Hey everyone.

I don't know how many former FrogFoot clients there are here, but I would like to ask this: How is the migration going for yourselves?

Here at my work, a school, we've had a mixed bag. The ADSL access has worked great since day 1, I'm happy with that. However, there is a lot of confusion around the DNS hosting, and especially with the JayWalk Imail server.

I still don't know what the equivalent package is that exists at WA. After we couldn't access the mail earlier, I called support. It took a while but when the phone was answered the person was polite and friendly which helped a lot. I asked him about the whole migration business, and he said that they don't really know anything in that department.

Sadly that seems to be the case, no one seems to know what is what right now. I had a sales lady named Beth call me a couple of weeks ago, and we kind of got lost in translation, since I couldn't explain exactly how our services with FrogFoot used to work.

Also, it appears that the domains haven't been moved over yet, as the co.za whois server shows that FrogFoot is still the billing contact, and that our domain is due to be suspended. The date of the billing period was 1 August, which gave more than enough time for the domains to be moved surely?

Anyway, I would just appreciate some clear simple answers that I can take to the bursar and principal of our school. They are not the most understanding of people when it comes to technology, and if our services go down they will get upset.

Thanks :)

It's a bit of a nightmare at the moment - email's up and down and lost in the firewall and so on the last few days. I think we must just wait a while.

Good guy to speak to is Zakkie - used to work at frogfoot so has a better clue of what's going on.

The packages are confusing yes - still can't figure out what I should be doing either.

[EDIT] for the last day all my messages for the last 10 years plus have vanished and even worse, my sub-mailboxes as well, so all the pop accounts are failing. Heinrich assures us it will be fixed before the weekend is up tho. Only my dad is throwing a wobbly cause outlook gives errors all the time on his pop account which no longer exists.

[EDIT] and now it's fixed already ....shew.... Thanks Heinrich.

Good to hear that there is a little progress at least, and positivity is always good.

I guess part of the problem comes with intergrating the former clients, some of whom have wildly different set ups. Also, there is the legacy of Jaywalk stuff as well, which was never intergrated into the FrogFoot networks for some reason.

Well, I'll just have to monitor things closely next week, and hope for the best.

Hey asherman. All is not as good as it seems. Me thinks they having lots of problems.
My wife’s account that disappeared on Friday is still gone. (Sunday 10pm)

And a bad job keeping us uptodate as the "server status" says the migration to new hardware is complete under "resolved issues - re jaywalk imail server" ha ha

They also don’t seem to understand how we could create our own mailboxes within a catchall box on imail, as many as we liked, and pop directly out of them.

And since they don't know about most of them - most will simply stop working and ceased to exist!

Hi Asha'man X,

I have sent you a PM, could you possibly respond with your client code so we may investigate and address all concerns accordingly.

Hi Ivork & Asha'man X,

I would like to assist you with your queries, could you please provide me with the clients codes for the accounts in question.

You can e-mail the details to me at: [email protected]

Roxanne, PM sent. Whats up with our queries sent this morning?.

But further to that, although the AHours support team are a bit clueless about what is going on and can't help me, the support at WAfrica is pretty darn good.

I am pretty impressed.
