Weight Loss/ Gain thread Dec 2014 - 2015

I love intermittent fasting. One meal a day of whatever I want to eat. Three weeks now and although the scale hasn't moved much, my clothes are looser. It's so easy to eat this way...especially knowing I'm going to be having something I like for supper everyday. I've even reacquainted myself with Messrs Simba and Cadbury , so there's no more craving for forbidden foods.

Which banting meal plan? They are expensive i take it?

It's with Serv'd Fresh (www.servdfresh.co.za).. I pay around R2800 for a 21 day package (42 meals).. It is pricey.. but I am less tempted to stray from the diet and order takeaways when I know that my meals are waiting for me in the fridge.
I'm happy because I'm seeing results, and that's all that matters for me at the moment.

I'm also saving money coz in the past I would binge drink 2 or 3 times a week... now I only drink a few beers once a week.. and have a heavy night out maybe once in a month or 2.

Congrats on the constant weight loss

1.1kg away (61.1kg this morning :p) but my new goal is to lose another 2kg fat and put on lean muscle.

I didn't gym for 2 months and only started again last week.

You want to weigh 60kg? Are you a pygmy? :p

1.84m, 82kg - not in any sort of useful shape. someone give me some tips on building muscle \ getting toned without doing exorbitant amounts of exercise - thanks in advance.

/I am aware of my ******* laziness :(

I'm 17cm shorter than you. Anyways, you'd be surprised how light one can be when you strip away the fat.

Been a while since I posted here as the weight loss stalled at 81 (from 95 in March).
81 remained for around 2 months, then suddenly Monday it dropped to 79.
My goal was to see 70's again, which I last saw 13 years ago.

Goal achieved!

Congrats dude. That's awesome.

I'm in a similar situation. Started in March 103kg - goal 85kg.

I reached 90 around June time and have been hovering around 90 since then. I've been maintaining quite well but have hit a cycle of putting on a kilo at the weekend and then losing it during the week.(my day off is a Friday, so Thursday night and Friday are my weekend) Been happening for a couple of months now. I'm not going mad at the weekend, just having a beer too many and the odd takeaway etc.

So in the push to lose the final 5 by Christmas, I'm keeping the same eating pattern for 7 days (instead of 5 good, 2 normal).

My eating goes like...

Breakfast: 2 eggs scrambled in butter or 4 oatcakes with peanut butter (not a big morning eater and this is fine until lunch, if I get hungry mid morning I have a banana or apple)

Lunch: Main meal of the day. Usually beef stew or fish with a little rice and dal and a big salad (I eat in the works canteen)

Evening: Usually soup and a sandwich or something fairly light such as oatcakes with cheese.

Snack: I drink a few cups of tea a day and about 1.5-2 litres of water. If I need something sweet, I have dark chocolate chip oatcakes. Yes, I like oatcakes a lot :D

This morning I'm 89.8 after a good week and a good weekend so here's to another good week.

I'm stuck on 86kg. Not feeling to bad about it because weight is only one component of health living. I however need to get to 81kg in the next year. I'm doing a really grueling trail competition in October and the extra weight will not work

I have stopped any form of diet hey. Hybrid banting worked for me at the start with Sat being my cheat day.
Few months back I went to low carb no sugar - except sat. Last month I eat what I want, but try to keep the cards and sugar down. Not strict though. Was surprised to see another 2 kg drop on Monday considering.

What is consistent now though is exercise. 2 or 3 times at the gym during the week, and 80 to 100km ride on either MTB it Road bike on the weekend.

@Spizz

Eat your supper 1-2 hours earlier and see what happens. Don't eat anything after supper.

I must thank everyone on this thread for their support. Its been a long road but I'm happy to report I have reached my goal from 105 to 78

Well done mate. Please post some guidelines, tips etc. Also on 105 looking to get to 85.

I say evening but it's about 6 - 6.30 when I eat and there is no eating after that :)

In that case, I recommend basically making a food diary. Count everything you eat, including the fast food and beer. Then you need to work out how many calories you are actually consuming, as well as how much protein etc.

What is probably happening is that you are eating more than you think you are. Its mentioned in this thread, but one day I weighed a spoon of peanut butter and got the shock of my life. What I thought was around 15g of peanut butter was closer to 50g - this meant I was consuming 300 calories worth of peanut butter twice a day. It adds up fast.

Also, what would 85kg represent for you? How tall are you? The reason I ask is that, the thinner you get, the harder it becomes to lose weight.
