I am in the camp that long term carbohydrate restriction is damaging. Bulletproof exec talks a lot about how when he ate only one serving of veg for a couple months he ended up with a bunch of new food sensitives, presumably due to destroying his gut lining due to insufficient mucous production. The ravenous appetite may be your body crying out for carbs. If I were you I would introduce a carb re-feed every 7 to 10 days and see what happens.
I have in the last month binged on puddings and carbs on the weekends. And it hasn't slowed down my weight loss. But what it has done is reintroduced cravings for especially sweets. Before, when I was really strict, I had no cravings at all.
