Weight loss

In before OMB...

Drop the rice

Also drop processed foods, cereals, carbs (no bread, rice, pasta, cakes etc) add some healthy fats aka avocado, cheeses etc and away you go.

And sugar, cut out the sugar, things start tasting so much better after a week or two.

Cool, Okay, Im going to stop the processed foods. Gonna stock up on avo and cheese (will look up more healthy fats). Just to ask, if I take in Coffee with no sugar, will its still be bad for me since I am trying to lose weight, or will it be slightly better?

OMB can advise on a good range of fats - sinbad likes his bacon, yeh, sounds weird, but fat is ok if not essential when you drop the sugar and carbs. I just dont like bacon.
Coffee without sugar actually tastes great after a while, if its bad or good, not sure, but one needs coffee and if you crave sweet, try lindt 90%, very creamy and after a while tastes frikken awesome.

coffee is very good as it does stimulate lipolysis (actually it's the caffeine not coffee per se), so coffee with no sugar is good

when it comes to fats, the more natural the fats the better, avo's are excellent as is coconut oil, olive oil and butter, with meats you want to go for free range, I have bacon and eggs every morning, then for main meals my preference is lamb, followed by beef and the pork, the problem with a lot of beef these days is that it's bred lean, just check out mince for instance (it's generally packaged as lean or extra lean), so your fattier cuts of beef are better, easier sourced from a butcher than supermarket prepacked

oh and nuts are pretty good as well, almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts etc.

I had lamb stew but not too much of it for lunch. My mom made some roast chicken for dinner so i shall be having some tomorrow :)

Thanks for the information. Will be stocking up on these items! Haha I had no idea coffee had some benefits. Okay, I am going to start coffee with no sugar. Do you fry or boil your eggs? Does it matter how the eggs are done? I use Canola oil to fry my bacon and all, so I am not sure if canola oil is good for my goal of weight loss.

Talking of fats, I love to mix my virgin coconut oil with ghee. I'm currently using the ghee from earth products. They say it comes from small farmers. The ghee I've tried from clover has been absolutely vile, and tasted rancid out of the bottle. Does anybody know of any other good sources?

This organic ghee from grass fed cows is absolutely OUT OF THIS WORLD! I imported a few jars and what a treat. I'm thinking of doing it again but thought I'd try one more time to look for a source in this country.

Delectable, Traditional Organic GheePurity Farms Ghee is made in harmony with nature, from organic sweet cream butter from pastured cows on small, certified organic family farms.Honoring a traditional Indian method, pure organic butter is slowly cooked to coax out water and milk solids. What remains is traditional delicious Ghee - a luxurious golden, semi-soft spread with a rich buttery taste and aroma. Use in place of butter for cooking, baking, or sauting and surprise your family and friends with this delightful treat from nature's kitchen.

what kind of breading do you put on that?

had 2 pieces chicken (was marinated - yesterdays roast) with cauliflower, butternet and gemsquash. it were so delicious!

Used Panko for the breading. Minimal carbs compared to wholewheat :o
8g.

I fry mine either in olive oil or butter, or occasionally coconut oil, drop the canola, it's a refined product as opposed to a pressed natural oil and is loaded with polyunsaturated fats (PUFAs)

scrambled eggs are also a great option because you can drop a load of cream and butter into them :D

I haven't used ghee in ages, worth trying again, one of my ex gf's many years ago use to get some here in Jo'burg from the Oriental plaza I think (never paid attention to such things in those days :o)

So can I ask something... For the high fat supporters - would it be advisable for someone to just see a healthcare practitioner before embarking on a high fat diet? As in, could it have implications for someone who has high cholesterol or something, for example.

I'm basically allowed olive oil and that's all so a high fat diet will never work for me.

If you're on a low fat diet to control cholesterol, chances are switching to a high fat low carb diet will result in your cholesterol numbers improving radically. So much so your doc will drop his stethescope.
