Weight loss

JEEZ shameles self promo there.

Why not help overweight people..? There are lots of people in this world that "want" to lose weight, and have tried before but just cant seem to manage to get anywhere.. if you know you this kinda person, then yeah, Herbalife will make a difference to your life. Never mind the fact that you will get into the shape you want, you will have more energy and be happier in yourself :)

btw.. 25% discount is pretty decent

Is herbalife (or something similar) necessary? Or how much easier does it make things?

I have close friends who were herbalife consultants.
It's not worth the money.

My mother in law still has boxes of slimmer bars.
taste like dirt

Turns out, tapeworms are not a medically advised weight-loss tool

File this under Advice That Should Be Obvious: Ingesting a live tapeworm is not the best way to lose weight.

Somewhere in Iowa recently, a patient told her doctor that she had bought a tapeworm on the internet and ingested it. The physician called the Iowa Department of Public Health to ask what to do for her. The department’s medical director, Dr. Patricia Quinlisk, advised to prescribe an anti-worm medication.

Quinlisk recounted the incident Thursday in a weekly email to public-health workers around the state. She noted that websites have been selling tapeworms as a weight-loss tool, and she warned against the practice.

“Ingesting tapeworms is extremely risky and can cause a wide range of undesirable side effects, including rare deaths,” she wrote. “Those desiring to lose weight are advised to stick with proven weight loss methods; consuming fewer calories and increasing physical activity.”

Tapeworms are parasites that can live in the intestines of animals and humans. They can be accidentally ingested in undercooked meat. Quinlisk said that a century ago, hucksters often sold tapeworm eggs in pill form as a weight-loss aid.

Not much imo

yes, because eating what alot of South Africans consider "normal" food like Spur burger&chips/Steers/McD take aways and slap chips is better.. lol ;) Never mind if you go more in depth into eating protein in the morning over eating cereal or carbs or coffee, which will all get your blood sugar going up and down during the day making you tired at work and feeling like you have no energy for the day

It really isn't. Nutrients come from food. Herbalife takes nutrients from food and makes products out of it.

Why not just go straight to the source? I.e. just eat good, normal food.

Weight loss is very simple and can be achieved in these two simple steps (excluding any medical complications):
1) Go on the "Don't Eat Crap Food Diet". Fresh and not sitting on a shelf in a supermarket for months is what you should aim for. Avoid exess sugar, salt and preservatives. Start this diet today and stay on it for the rest of your life
2) Get regular moderate exercise
?????
3) Profit

I'm happy to take part - but i'd rather do it as % body fat lost or BMI points lost vs actual weight loss.

I'm boxing and while I may lose fat I will also pickup muscle. That being said, i've got about 5kg to lose and would be happy to take part / train with people on the weekends if keen.

I'm based in Observatory CPT.

Guys check out the sleekgeek Reboot support group on Facebook (if you are on facebook) Those guys lose 4-8kgs per month by changing their eating habits in only 30 days. And it's mostly from cutting out carbs and sugars (all sugars - even the ones in sauces like tomato sauce) They have a list of what you can and can't eat. And after the 30 day detox most people go onto the paleo diet - which is actually a life style change. It's nice to see how they support and motivate each other. And they share recipes too!
I unfortunately can't join, because i am skinny and I will fade away after 30 days - but it's a healthy eating plan which will be really good for you if you want to get rid of some extra kilos :)

Winner of the competition gets a triple fudge chocolate cake!!

Now that's a prize worthy of the magnitude of this challenge.

I am in.
I'll have to go to virgin to get on a scale but I should be in the region of about 115 - 120kg
