Weight loss

Lunch today is ketogenic KFC. Homemade and nearly carb free. Absolutely delicious.

What are you having with the chicken? More details please!

I haven't made breakfast yet. It's way too easy to forget to eat starting the day off with high fat coffee.

I haven't made breakfast yet. It's way too easy to forget to eat starting the day off with high fat coffee.

Few words can describe just how delicious that was. Most people don't realise that the flavour you get from KFC burgers is largely derived from the mayo and lettuce combination. So I made a homemade mayo with xylitol for additional sweetness. I had some already made lying around. I then chopped up lettuce and mixed the two, and ate it with the chicken.

As for the spice mix, it is insanely delicious. My own blend:

1 teaspoon fine white pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Half a teaspoon of mustard powder
A half to a quarter teaspoon of cumin
A sprinkle of chilli powder

Then season the chicken with salt on both sides. Then liberally add the seasoning mix. I intentionally don't add salt to the spice mix to allow me to use as much or as little as I like without affecting the salt seasoning.

Then fry in olive oil and butter on a medium heat - but only turn once. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side without moving. This creates a crust that crisps up.

Then reap your rewards...:D

Oh, and I use skinless chicken breasts only because I honestly can't find boneless, skin-on chicken breasts in the bulk I buy them in right now. If the chicken had skin, I'd remove the skin and cook it before the chicken.

Steps:

Season skin with salt only. Cook on a medium temp pan until it begins to render fat. Then remove and add spice mix. If you add the spice mix beforehand you risk burning it.
Then fry until really crisp, and cook the chicken breast in the rendered fat and butter.

I do this because there's not enough cooking time to get the skin really crispy without over-cooking the chicken. And chicken skin scratchings are as good as pork scratchings...

Ok, but nothing new there, we all doing that, plus add no sugar to the no list, anything else?

ok, it's the Sureslim diet.
Gluten Free, very small portions 3 times a day. High protein.

basically a lunch is a chicken salad, and a dinner might be 130g of pork or chicken fillet and vegetables with gluten free crackers. Got loads of energy and not hungry if I stick to the rules.

Takes a lot of commitment because it takes a lot of imagination to make the meals exciting.

You're probably also starving yourself a little, which is why you're losing weight. It's not a healthy way to diet to be honest...

That's great that it's working for you. I know that it's a quick loss eating plan and it does work. Two ladies I know have been on it. The only problem is they've now put back the weight they lost and added to it. I hope you find a way to make your weight loss sustainable.

yeah, I'll move over to a "maintenance" plan. so they keep monitoring. It's a lifestyle for life change.

best I've felt in years

Of course you'll feel better. You're no longer lumping around a half a person attached to you. But starvation as in actual starvation is not a long term solution, nor a healthy one.

Congrats nonetheless...

I'm not starving lol.

not sure which route to follow, sigh.

I'm on day 10 of W30 now and physically I see some improvement I think, not sure, but food relationship and awareness wise its going really well. I've learnt quite a lot about myself in the past few days so I'm excited to see how the next 20 goes. I would suggest anyone tries it - just out of interest and without expecting any specific results. Only to learn.
