Weight loss

I'll be shadowing this seeing as entries are closed.
Current: 99.5KG
Height: 176cm
Goal: 80KG

Lets see if I can do this. Been meaning to seriously shed some of the fat for a while so perhaps reporting back here will help me do it.

Isn't 80 a bit low for 1.76?
 
Healthy BMI is from 18 to 25. Overweight is 25 to 30 and Obese is 30 and up. I am currently at 32 and if I reach 80KG I will still be around 26 on the BMI scale. 80KG is just where I feel comfortable at. If I went down to 18 BMI I would weigh 56KG.

These days people are heavier. The average weight of US soldiers in the US civil war 130 years ago was 56KG and the average height was close to mine. Our food is richer and our lives more sedentary so the average weight of people has gone up a lot.

I am not so sure BMI is a good way of doing it. I have a BMI of 19.47. But there is no ways I am healthy with all the weight settled around my waist.

Besides some people have heavier bones :D

If you beg, grovel and plead like I did OP will probably still put you in today, late entries should be allowed until first weigh in on Monday, just my 2c

Time to get serious. If I stick to the eating plan I got from a good dietician a few years back I tend to loose 0.5KG a week. If I also exercise seriously 4-5 times a week then that can go up to 1KG a week. I doubt I will maintain that though as I just love food way too much so I will be happy with about 0.5KG a week on long term average. That should get me down to 91.5KG.

If I where to be really disciplined and manage 1KG a week I could be 84KG by the 9th Dec. That would be awesome. Well, lets see how it goes.

Which will make choosing a genuine winner hard.

Submit whenever you're ready as long as it has something confirming date
