Weight loss

Question

Question for followers of low carb....actually 2 questions!

Since really dropping my carb intake I just don't get hungry and am battling to eat.

I had a decent enough breakfast today of omelette and cheese with sides of avo and various vegetables and was not at all hungry during the day, I had one of these small packets of cashews and an apple during the day.

I wasn't hungry but decided to grill a chicken this evening anyhow, but I get nausea at the thought of eating. I am fighting off the flu, which hasn't developed yet but full of medication such as viral choice, corenza C and what not, so that may have contributed to lack of appetite.

So first question, if you not hungry, do you still eat and second question is there a cut off time when you should have your last meal of the day?

I'd see how you feel once the flu has worn off.

However, I find with higher fat intake I can go longer between meals without feeling hungry. I've read of some people on extreme fat diets that say they only need to eat twice a day sometimes.

My view is eat when you feel hungry, your body will naturally trigger the hunger response when it feels it has insufficient immediate energy sources available.

Also note that it can take a couple of weeks for the body to adjust from carbs to fats and during this time nausea is not an uncommon side effect

Are you all having a bad week and don't want to mention it here?

You were all doing do well encouraging each other.

My week's been good :)

Just been busy...

A bit busy aswell. Had a mid-week weigh in and seems my weight fluctuates between 61.5-64ish. Think I can live with that.
Got my sign-off papers to start exercising again so going to do the odd pull-ups and push-ups to get my core back up to scratch.

Dude, your weight shouldn't fluctuate in that kind of range, you may want to check your scale

OMB:

Have you done research on eggs? Can you eat too much of it (white & yolk)? Would 4 a day be okay?

there's a lot of myth around eggs especially in relation to cholesterol, in effect you can eat as many as you like so 4 a day shouldn't be a problem, just remember that the yolks contain the fats (especially your omega's) the white is pretty much protein, so depending what you want to get out of the egg you can split it

Have a look at this diet and let me know what you guys think.
I started it on Wednesday 18th and currently have lost 2kg since 6am this morning (Friday 20th).
A bit about me: Im 1.94m and when I started the diet was around 124.7kg. Im currently 122.6kg and considered big built (my thumb and index finger are far apart from each other when I try make a circle with them around my wrist)
So far its been ok and may have "cheated" as I had half a AVO with my second day salad (AVO is a fruit full of fat).
You supposed to lose up to 9kg on this diet after 7 days so hears hoping. Will keep you guys updated with progress.
So what do you guys think about it?

I'm having an excellent week :) Saying goodbye to the keto diet today though. There was an almond magnum ice cream that was screaming my name hysterically in Spar last night. Took pity on the poor thing, so it's just me and the magnum for supper tonight. Back to paleo tomorrow.

I'd kill myself if I had to eat like that

Don't trust anyone that writes up an eating plan that doesn't know the difference between "lose" and "loose":D

Or in other words that isn't great, you will need to do lifestyle changes if you want to drop weight and keep it off permanently.

With a quick fix diet whatever weight you lose you will probably gain double when you go back to eating normally.

LOL

dynamo if you'd posted that diet a few weeks ago you would've been held in detention, read the no-carb manifesto for a period of at least 24 straight hours and had any remaining blood sugar extracted one molecule at a time. But our law enforcers now grow weary. In short, no, this thread does not approve of such eating strategies (and neither should you).
