Your right to insult my loved ones, is far more important than my right to be angry about it (not that I will be, as either your insult is true, in which case I'd be a fool to fight you for it, or false, in which case I will illustrate why).

Fundamentally, I support freedom of speech, and you do not, in this regard.

Just because you don't get it, doesn't make it less true....the offended/hurt aspect of it.

What I don't get is that while you claim "simply nothing more than another ancient mythology", you and others just can't get enough of religion. What's with that? Are your life really being made that miserable by religious folk? Why don't I feel the same way about other religions or atheists smothering me? I think atheists just have a personal vendetta against religion due to bad experiences (maybe bad experiences in their own lives - then asked the question: "Where was God when this and that happened?" - not saying this was the case with you). I do find it striking however that many/most atheists (previously religious), came from a RC background.

Well, I can understand it from your perspective, to a degree. One thing is for sure, you folk don't seem to have a clue what I'm talking about when I speak of freedom of speech and that kind of thing, so it's perhaps an impasse that cannot be crossed in some respects.

As I have pointed out many, many times, religion plays a huge role in this world. Refer to the previous two examples I have provided in this thread of a Christian being put to death by Muslims for being a Christian, and of the threats of violence and death levelled at a 16 year old girl, for legally compelling her school to align itself with the constitution of her country.

If you don't think Christians are persecuted, that puts you in the minority, as I'm sure you are aware.

Taking offence on behalf of a deity, and then attempting to censor people because of this, is what's foolish, if anything is.

Well then let God, Allah, Jehova etc etc take the necessary action, it's not your fight to fight. They're suppose to be gods for heavens sake, surely they can take care of themselves and don't need some mere mortal to sort things out for them. If you so strongly believe in these deities then you should also know that they will seek vengeance or punish the 'bad ones' in the afterlife.

Fundamentally I to support freedom of speech. I Do see your point , my peers have lead you to believe otherwise ,sadly , I am on my phone so I can't find quote from the quran but it says something to the effect "have Patience with what they say" so I am exercising this when I restrain my self but at the same time I would like to voice my objection to your comment ,as is my right. But I suppose I need to clean my house first as it were and try to change the perceived default reaction of the typical Muslim.

Just one err in your reasoning. If people can't fight over things religiously they will find something new to fight over. Just think about great local example: people being killed over penis size.
