Wesbank refund

Doubt it.

It has been said clearly, it is for cars bought privately and then the individual approached wesbank for finance. It is exactly how I did it. Bought vehicle directly from an individual myself and asked wesbank for finance.

Apologies. Did not read that.

You are right, both my vehicles were from Private sellers (1 was moved from my dad to me [ABSA to Wesbank])
 
I phoned them and found out the details. It's only on vehicles bought from a private seller.

To follow up, was refunded R5800 six days later.
 
Just received my SMS from them, I had financed two vehicles with them.. wonder what happens with the tax on this, if at all taxed ?

Technically this is not income.

IF you get taxed, it would be in the interest gained....and that is so small I doubt you will get taxed on it, unless you have lots of other investments paying out, then you will have to pay a tiny amount.
 
I am following this thread as I would like to follow everyones experiences so far.
I've had four vehicles and a jetski privately financed through Wesbank, so I would love to know what the timeframe is.

Getting 3 grand odd and 4 grand odd from two vehicles. I was told yesterday that the refund of the first vehicle would take 5-7 days. Today I was told that with the second vehicle, it will take 15 days cause of the amount of claims.
 
Mine is apparently 7-10 working days.
After speaking to the consultant,they told me that I am due R5k odd.
I asked about my first vehicle, but they say 'you will receive an SMS if that is also due.
Conflicting reports, saying that you will only receive this back for 'Private to Private' type deals, and not dealer deals (which was what my first vehicle was).
Every penny counts nowadays..
 
Thought I'd add my experience here too so far. Got two SMS's for two privately financed cars from years ago. I'm owed a considerable amount (at least to me). Got the same ETA for payment as other peeps here.
 
Also got the mail today, phoned 011 632 8952 and after no answer and music for 5min, put the phone down. Is there an alternative number?
 
Got the message. Called the call centre. Getting 1k back. Small amount enough for a new ps5 game
