Gigabyte Brix looks interesting.

My question is how does it compare to the Zotac Zbox Nano ID65...?( Another product I've been eyeing and waiting for in this country.)

I'm glad at least one of them will make their way here. Looking forward to having a small HTPC running XBMC.

I mean really, ffs we all know that they dont sell to the public, its for information only.
Is that such a crime that someone has to go and report the guy?
Do people not have better things to do with their time?

Oooh Zotac, My first ever GPU was a Zotac, Great company with some seriously sturdy products.
I will not be able to tell you how it compares as i havent had the chance to compare them or benchmark them against each other, Although if a comparative graph ever finds itself in my lap i will be sure to let you know :)

Hi Wesley,

I have contacted Rectron a little while back and they could not tell me when the Brix lands, have you got a projected date of availability?

Thanks.

Hi there F1 Fan

We do not stock those brands as a few other distributors do them, We do Gigabyte and Corsair, They have sufficient products for us in the PSU, Chassis, GPU, Cooling, and motherboard department :)

So, what SFX or TFX options do you offer us in the PSU department for our SFF builds?

Hi Kayvee

We dont actually stock any SFX or TFX sized power supplies, the only one i could think of comes pre-built into a matx case.
The reason we don't stock them is that if we were too stock these units we would have to bring in large quantities at a time, and for us it isnt a very fast moving item, Many many moons ago we did have them and they really just didnt sell

Although to my knowledge companies that makes such PSU's are silverstone,InWin, FSP,Seasonic and EZCool, I am probably forgetting some, but they are great companies with great products, and i do believe a few of them are sold in SA :)

Thanks. I would have thought they were becoming more common what with SFF builds for HTPC's and compact rigs in general.

Take heart that I am using a GA-H87N-WIFI in it :) As soon as I can find a suitable PSU that is.

Any issues with the board btw? I generally try and avoid Rev 1.0 boards when I can.

The lovely thing of course is that if the interest for these units increases, and we notice the increase, than i am sure we will bring more products in to meet the demand

That motherboard is fantastic, i havent had any complaints about it, and the only complaint i had was from a guy who tried to do a BIOS update and didnt do it correctly :)

P.S after doing a little fact checking we do actually stock SD-250PSU 1U FLEX ATX 200W POWER SUPPLY 220V, but it seems that is a special order item! Not as powerful as the other power supplies that size, but it would manage to run most small sff builds

This was a good idea Wesley, thanks for the info on this product it looks AWESOME!

As for the haters, guys stop complaining about petty stuff as it's obvious that all he is trying to do is create a bit of product awareness which is great and its good that they are showing some initiative in this regard!

NB: Give us info on the next unit of computing... I was reading about that years ago and i see its finally here... Would like to see what people have to say about that, LOL!

So, after all that, I wouldnt mind buying a brix for an HTPC - but I see it is impossible in SA. None of Rectron's business partners have them.
