What car to get?

Whats the opinion on Alfa's? Is the resale value still very horrible?

Awesome cars! Maintenance costs are on par with German rivals. Resale value isn't good but that's how you'll get a great deal on one. I'd probably buy one over the A3

A 1 year old bmw 116i or 118i in tiptronic would be a good choice. If the mileage is not that high you will still have 4 years of motor plan and let's face it, it's a bmw so the cool factor is there

Since theres no way i am going to read all the previous pages here, so i apologise if this has already been said.

but basically, more important than what car you get is the workmanship and customer satisfaction of after sales sales by the particular brand.

I am an OPEL fan, always have been, always will be.. hell i own a few. Great Cars, you wont make a mistake but the after sales service from GM is crap(usually)and im hoping this changes going forward, brands that are known for their great service are usually your 'High End' brands, its unfortunate but its true.

so regardless of what you buy, keep that in mind.

Went to test drive an A3 today, it was really good. My only complaint is that its missing alot cause its the base demo model.
Its going for R299000.



I the went past another dealership to look at a 2015 A-class. Its got 14000Km on the clock and its going for R369K.


I was really leaning towards the A-class. The Audi is very affordable, but compare it to other cars in the range, such as a Mazda 3, the car obviously is missing stuff.

When I just got home, I saw this C-class coupe. Kinda sucks cause I was right across this dealership today, so I could have test drove it. Hoping to check it out Monday, if its good I will take it.

Yep, the W204 coupe was actually the car I was hoping to get from the start but when I initially started looking but its so rare to get one in excellent condition with low mileage like the one I just saw.

I'm more of a Mercedes guy. That's why I was pretty bummed at missing that C-class coupe.
