What do you feed your dog?

2 of the dogs are on Hills Adult Advanced Fitness Mini.

And the old girl is on Hills Metabolic Mini to help keep her weight under control.

Buy majority of my dog food from Takealot find them to be cheaper and they deliver for free without worrying about the hassles of carrying the bag. I buy bobtail, pedigree, bobmartin and montego. My dogs prefer eating bobtail bbq, chicken and refuse to touch lamb. I have tried to feed them dogmor but they refuse to eat it. My dogs eat roughly around 18 KG of dog food every 4 days or so!

I have also gone to the SPCA(Booysens) pet shop they sell other brands like Watchdog etc... They love dog food too much(I don't control their diet cos they just love eating dog food).... If I do control their diet my dog becomes thin as in bones...

The Jack Russel get Bobtail with fish oil (it helps with the skin/coat) poured over the pellets.
He also gets a raw egg with 250ml milk in the morning and Vitamin B tabs so that he can drink a shst lot of water.

The Pitbull will follow the same diet, but with Royal Canin instead.

Whatever I eat, the dogs get. Mostly rice and veggies mixed with no-name brand dogfood pellets.

B.A.R.F ;) Looks a bit yuck, but I reckon that's about as close to a dogs real diet as you're going to get. They deliver too, but will have to ask the wife where exactly she gets it from

I went through a number of feeds for mine. Eukanuba, Hills, etc. Eventually I discovered they really like Complete's Ostrich dog food.
And I have a local store that has a very decent price for 25 kg bags. Every weekend they get ox liver or chicken necks with rice.
So - I'm happy, and they are happy.

you in cpt? I thought montego was ostrich based for some damn reason. think a dude at a store dude told me that once upon a time.

3 Jack Russels.

They each get a bowl full of food (once or twice a day - depending if they finish it).

Half Montego chunks and half wet food - Checkers Chunky Dog Food can - R16.99 for 750g.

Once a week they get pilchards.

Somone made a good point to me a while back about ostrich in dog food.
Have you ever considered the cost of ostrich meat and then noticed that ostrich dog food is so cheap?
Why?
Animal derivatives.

Buttloads of ostrich bits, and that does not mean ostrich meat.

That Wikipooch site looks like it is run (and the reviews are done) by an Anti-GMO, green nut.
I'll get my reviews from a more balanced site, thanks. ;)

Mine used to eat vet choice premium but they pulled their nose up at it and only really ate it when they got hungry, I've fiddled around with all sorts of foods from the vet and finally we've settled on Montego. They can't wait for their bowls to be filled and they eat all their food now. Also I've monitored their coats and checked for weight gain over the last 6 months and they're doing great so I'm sticking with it.
