Euphemisms aside - those dogs are hardly what you would call looked after - and I hope that they are not the yardstick by which you judge how well your animals are doing.

I'm fairly sure you're smart enough to know whether I was joking or not. You're quite welcome to come and check my dogs out anytime if my posts bother you so much. I assure you, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
 
I am sure Marty was unaware of the chocolate thing. Now that he is aware, I am sure he will no longer allow his dog to eat chocolate.
I used to think garlic or onion were OK for cats. I learnt otherwise since, so no more treats containing garlic or onion for them. Was an honest mistake. And no lilies in the house. . So we learn.

You're quite wrong actually. My missus used to work in a chocolate shop when I met her yonks ago. She used to regularly give her Mom's Chow (?) Swiss hand-made chocolates (lucky dog). Shame... ironically the dog was poisoned by some dudes that were trying to break in when the folks were away. Lovely dog... was over 10 years old when she passed :cry:

I feed my Jack Russels Montego and Checkers canned dog food, they are also healthy and don't crap all over the place. Your move... ;)

Have a good reason to visit Oudtshoorn once a month and then we drop by the ostrich abattoir. Ostrich pet mince sells for R10/kg.

Dogs cannot do without it. Its mixed with other dog food (pellets).

The dogs have shiny coats and their farts don't smell.

I do that [literally all the time] and I also haven't got diabetes [yet].

On a "more" serious note though - I'm not giving my dogs chocolate as food or daily if that's what you folks think. And I don't give them coffee every morning :wtf: I was referring to letting whoever's closest at that point finish the last few sips of my Saturday morning cup on the odd occasion or have the sweet/chocolate that the little one threw on the floor (or directly out her hand when she's looking the other way).

I ensure my dogs have a varied diet. We've even found that they will completely ignore some foods if they don't like it. Foods that I've seen listed in this thread by you "dog enthusiasts". They'll rather go hungry. Hell, sometimes they catch sky rats and ground rats and devour most of them. Surely can't be too healthy? Tasty for them maybe :sick: I shudder at the thought of being a dog and eating the same dry food out of a bag every single day.

They go to the vet annually for their check-ups or immediately if anything seems wrong. Strange how the vet(s) are always saying how healthy they look and have previously inquired what we feed them as they look so healthy :wtf: They get walked regularly - 3/4 times a week. We have a large yard for them to "own" and protect. The big ones sleep inside when it rains and in winter even though they're supposedly have the job of protecting us.

I'm really starting to feel quite bad now - clearly I'm mistreating my dogs in the most horrible and inhumane way...
 
My dogs that eat Acana only poo twice a day - directly after their meals. I don't have any **** lying around. My pets coats are magnificent, they are healthy and full of life and energy. I pay about R1200 a month on dog food but it is very well worth it!
