What do you feed your dog?

Agree.

I think at the end of the day, everyone on this thread loves their dog and wants the best that they can provide for them, and others who have and love dogs will have and voice their concern when statements are made.

I'd suggest not giving them chocolate and coffee at all. But that's my opinion. It may not seem like a big deal if it is a small bit here and there, but those all add up in a dog and affects them far more in the long run.

Anyway, now that that is cleared up...

People are entitled to their opinions, but that doesn't make them right.

Dogs shouldn't be fed junk like sweets and coffee. Whether you're been doing it for years or not...it's not healthy for them.

Duly noted.

...and I'll pass on the sad news to my dogs :p

What about Marie Biscuits as an occasional treat?

I've heard of people doing this. Can't see how it would be healthy though (again, long term) considering the amount of butter and sugar that is in Marie Biscuits. Not too sure though.

Everything in moderation.
I would suggest rather buying homemade dog biscuits.

dog food

hi all

This is my first post and would like to get opinion on dog food quality.

Looking at buying earthborn holistic primitive natural grain free dry dog food for my daschund.

Its crazy expensive but cheaper than orijen and acana.

Anyone use it maybe to replace eukanuba or hills and difference in dog coat and general health?

My dogs treat themselves to the occasional bird every now and again. I don't like it because those birds could have eaten poison, So if they do catch a bird or a rat I dispose of it before they can eat it but at times I get home to find only feathers scattered through the yard.

Yep, my Jack Russels too. They eat birds, rats, lizards, locusts... whatever they can get their hands on.
I came out of the house the other day to see a Myna bird's yellow legs going down his throat...

My, whatever kind of dog she is, has developed a taste for crickets, she borrows into the lawn after their crunchy goodness. I can no longer spray any pesticides, but on the bright side she seems to be doing a better job than the poison.

been using wuma instead of montego. but it seems both of thems formula have changed. the poop never used to stink but now it does. Montego's pellts used to moist but now they are dry. unsure if I should move back to montego now. need to find something else.

I'm currently using Hill's for my puppy. She's almost 4 months old now, so sticking to the food plan until she's 18 months.

It was about R450 for 7.5kg food bag, and the puppy eats ~250g per day so it's lasting a good while.

I use wuma and I find that my dogs eat less of it than other foods because it has a higher protein count. It's the best price to quality ratio I can find at the moment.
