What do you feed your dog?

30 something kg Great Dane, should top out between 55 and 60kg at a guess.
My bitch topped out at 50kg - the younger male, who has hopefully stopped growing now at 18 months, is well over 60kg.

By the way...those brand you buy at your local grocer aren't very healthy for your pooch...

Just check the ingredients.

I feed my 2 dogs a raw diet which I buy in Brackenfell. They go insane for it and they are very healthy.

It costs R300pm and thats enough for both dogs.

The food comes ready to serve so no need to still prepare everything. I just take the frozen food out of the wrapping each morning and by feeding time in the evening its ready to eat.

Hi,

It is called DOGGOBONE. I buy the classic (all in one) food for my dogs and as a treat they sometimes get a roll of tripe.

I buy mine from a place called FOR PETS SAKE, they are in the complex close to the post office in Brackenfell.

Its best to call them first and ask if they have stock of the classic as they sometimes have to order which they do on tuesdays and you can then collect on a thursday or friday.

At first ny one dog refused to eat it out of his bowl, I had to feed him with a teaspoon but its only because they are not used to the texture of the raw food but now they almost run me over when I take them their bowls.

Their bowel movements are healthy and the poo is white, meaning that they take ALL of the nutrients in that is in the food. The poo also does NOT smell...

Both my dogs are shar pei's, which are prone to skin problems but with this food there is nothing wrong with their skins.

Both of the dogs weigh 20kg and they each eat one 500g "loaf" per day.

Hope this helps and let me know if you need anything else

ok so apparently the whiteness is caused by the bone in the diet, what are they putting in there, bone meal?

It's literally raw food - uncooked meat and vegetables.

Vets that I have spoken to are on the fence about whether it is actually work feeding them a raw diet as opposed to a decent quality pellet.

This is the site of the producers

I've heard of Montego, but I've never seen it?

Does it contain FOOD? Some dog foods contain bone or other animal parts like hooves and ****...some even have ASH as an ingredient.

I could never feed my dog that kind of crap.

Montego is pretty good, my lab loved it, unfortunately after we snipped him he started picking up weight at a pace of knots so we had to switch him to a Hills scientific food
