What do you feed your dog?

People should do some research in the dry food or tin food they feed their pets. Processed and full of chemicals. I'd never feed that shiz to my dogs, no hills and no other brand.

Raw meat/cooked chicken diet mixed with veggies etc is what you should feed your dog. If you don't have the time or money, there are a few companies in SA that supply raw diet meals at an affordable price.

Every time I switch from Hills my garden becomes a s**t fest. I haven't tried Montego but some of these foods contain minimal nutritional value per gram.

Labs would eat all day if they could :)

My two are on 200g of dry food each (Royal Canin Labrador) and one small can of quality wet (Husky, Hahns, Petleys) between them a day served with Bobtail gravy. Both are spayed bitches, Pheobe's 30kg and Pippa 35kg (but she's big for a lab).

Yep, labs are known to be food centric. Funnily enough my boy wasn't until we got him snipped.

tried the food reduction route when he was still on Montego, wasn't working

was getting painful looking at the expression on his face after he'd finished eating and he kept looking at me and the empty bowl like he was saying "dude, where's the rest of it?"

I did a lot of research on this and they say that feeding raw can be detrimental to a dog in the long run. Apparently raw deprives them of certain vitamins and minerals which only shows after a long time, by which it's too late.

There's no conclusive answer on the raw vs kibble diets, so you do what you can. My dogs refused to eat raw, so I had to go back to kibble.

What have dogs been eating for centuries? I am not saying kibble is bad for them but according to what I can see with my own dogs is that they are doing much better on raw diet
