What do you use your ipad for?

I have a ton of games on the thing and currently on swordigo quest. One of the best games for me. I'm on 51%
 
I use the kindle reader a lot. Use ITunesU

Use the web browser while developing on laptop to access reference info

I have that, plus I do freelance writing and interviews; it will be helpful with that. I study through unisa so notes on their instead of heaving a huge textbook. It will also be helpful when I travel instead of lugging my laptop around :)

I wasn't very specific I guess so here's a better list in conjunction with the above:
- I can reply to blog comments easily
- manage my Facebook page better on the go
- play my games like Angry Birds, Draw Something, Words With Friends, SongPop etc
- record my interviews and have my questions easily avaliable
- read e-books and digital magazines
- do some basic photo editing - not sure if Photoshop can work on an iPad?

Only thing you need to consider if you are a student is if you need to take quick notes in class with a digital pen. The new Samsungs would be better for that.

Don't plan to go to classes - the joys of Unisa is that I'll teach myself :p haha but thanks for the tip :)

For notetaking the best is a regular keyboard. Either get a Surface or invest in those Logitech bluetooth case dealies.

agree but at uni often like in maths, engineering,cs you have to write complicated formulas,graphs, diagrams etc or do those for planning. I find I prefer to type on the touch keyboard rather than digitize but there will be scenarios where you want good accuracy with free drawing

It's actually more useful than you think...
Get an app called stream to me & you can watch series & movies in bed, without copying the movies to the iPad, it just streams
over wifi from your pc or Mac.
Then, if you get an apple TV, you can play games on the big screen via AirPlay.

Once you jailbreak it, you can download torrents with iTransmission.
Get widgets and themes for it.

Use the iPad? OMG, these things are actually USEFUL? I thought they were just this season's fashion accessory! Does this mean you can actually switch it ON or something?

Oh I forgot: Zinio. Don't use Apple's newstand k*k. Zinio allows you to use all your magazines on all platforms :)
 
On holiday for mail and browsing
At work using a utility that detects and measures wi-fi performance. Using this I paid for the iPad in 15 months

I use my ipad mostly for gaming, but I'd be honest to say that I haven't charged it for the past 2-3 months...need to get back in it...
