What if you were raped?

Ok, firstly, this by no means I've been involved in anything of the sort btw :p.

To the crux of the matter:

Ok, so you were invited to a party where you don't really know anyone... and you go... Now, at this party, everyone was very welcoming, and you got very drunk, and passed out at said party.

You then wake up in the morning (at home) and you notice that you gat is the size of a gold mine shaft... you realize you've been raped.

Now, you don't remember anyone from the party, and you don't know who had done it.

The question is, what would you do? Omit the idea of getting AIDS (think of it as and STD free situation).

Would you keep quiet about having been raped and having your anal virginity stolen from you because it would be mighty embarrassing, or would you go to the police knowing that you don't really have any idea to did it?
 
Buy a cork and never go to parties with strangers again?
 
I would possibly maybe do the following:
1. Get over the sore ass
2. Find out who was at the party (you got invited by somebody after all)
3. Track down, and keep tabs on everyone, who they are friends with, movements and more importantly family.
4. Go on a random spree of mayhem as you kill of every person that knows that each of those people. Don't kill the guy that actually went to the party.
5. Wait several years, start at 3.
 
The scary thing is that men do get raped.
I guess I would keep quiet.
Would definitely have to go for counselling.
After a couple weeks the shock will turn to anger and I would want to find out who raped me.
I wouldn't get the cops involved,though.
Maybe a private investigator or something.

Well if you do report it and get the evidence analysed,
then you would find out who did it.

Male rape is just as serious as any other type. In fact,
it's more likely to pass on HIV.

If [-]you[/-] the hypothetical subject of your enquiry was that drunk how can [-]you[/-] the hypothetical subject be so sure it wasn't consensual?

Yes...male rape is very much real and happening. Sorry to be a party pooper....yes yes...I get it pooper blah blah blah....but seriously guys...this is not really somthing to be joking about...just as female rape is not funny.

I know male rape sounds so unreal and unlikely and it will never happen to you...and it is rare admittedly, so it more than likely never will...but that does not mean it will not happen to another guy.

Yes, I would keep quiet. I would go for an HIV test the very same day or next day. I would not go to the police.

The HIV test in this case is irrelevant...especially the next day. What you should be doing is going for AZT or whatever that pill is to help prevent HIV infection after you have been raped, whether you are male of female. I think there is a 24 - 48 window period when this is most effective. You will then have to be tested for HIV (in case you are already poz) and then 3 - 6 months later again (to rule out the window period)

Yes, exactly and again a year later.

Doing a test the same day is not irrelevant though, not because your facts are correct, the test is action taken by the victim and a psychologically positive move ;)

Personally I would not start taking AZT immediately.

This is exactly what I would do if I was raped tomorrow:

- I would go to my private GP, tell her what happened, and that I want DNA samples taken, I would tell her to call the police to her consulting rooms where I would make my first statement to a police officer

- After getting all the right medical advise and attention I would go and make a detailed report at the police station

- Then I would go to my best friend with a bottle of tequila and the pills my GP prescribed

- I would shower till the water turned cold at her house

- I will smoke

- Then I will tell her exactly what happened

- I will drink the tequila

- I won't drink more than 5 or 6 tots

- then I will pass out

- I will do the STD/HIV tests as directed by my GP in the weeks to come

- I will consult with a psychologist

- I will become depressed, anti-social and quiet

- I will feel insecure and ashamed that it had happened to me

- I will smoke too much, sleep too much, and avoid all social things

- I will survive and I will function again, and even be 'allright' again

- I will never be the same person as before being raped

- Something is broken, I try to fix it, move on, fool everyone I'm over it, pretend

- But I will never be me again, I will be less me, something vital has been damaged and exactly what I can't figure out, I rationalise, intellectualise, read a lot about rape, sex, and so on, as the decade passes, I will get better, but the violation is never forgotten, it has become a part of whom I am, I trust less people, I am more careful, more suspicious, I appear normal and happy.

You cannot prevent HIV (by using drugs). Anti-retro-viral drugs are used to attempt slowing down HIV infection and to stop transfer from mother to child, does not do anything else :rolleyes: sjoe...

Anti-virals taken within 72 hours of contamination greatly reduce the risk of contracting HIV...
