Telkom is openserve is telkom. Yes I know that they are not the same company anymore. Does not make much of a difference. Yes, they were not the best, and there are ISPs that offer better service, but the ISP cannot offer a better service than what the FNO is able to offer. Here Frotfoot lacks in every way imaginable. They will always point to the ISP and the ISP will always point to the FNO. Stalemate. With telkom, the fabric is thinner, so issues are seemingly resolved quicker between the ISP and the FNO.
Although I manage one business line with Vox on a FF line, where the fabric is also as thin as it can be, but getting them to even acknowledge an issue is half of the battle. Yes, I had those same battles with Telkom, but would be able to win them more times than I lost them. With telkom, also a business line, I had it figured out and many times had a tech onsite, same day, and they would run with the issue and sort it out. Had direct numbers to the area managers and got movement and feedback. Used the same avenues and tricks to sort out home ADSL issues as well. Cannot say the same about FF.
Would I go Telkom on Frotfoot, probably no. Would I go pretty much any ISP, including Telkom, on an openserve line? 9001 times out of a 9000 times, yes. Sure, I might have to deal with a few billing issues. And I will gladly do that if that means that I never have to deal with Frotfoot ever again.
Rather the devil you know has never been truer.
