Think of it as a credit/debit card that instead of a chip/magnetic strip its a Device that transmit that data to a very short range.

My only reservation regarding this technology is ....... privacy and security.
If my CC details are going to be transmitted willy-nilly at a supported paypoint, it had better be secure and private.
Unfortunately, I can't see it working 100% here in good old SA for quite a time to come.

1) your phone can also get stolen

but iDenTiTy you forget that 90% of south africans cant afford a phone with NFC technology. it wouldnt be feasible for any bank/financial provider to implement this, not at least for the next 5-10 years

But I can still track and disable my phone with Wavesecure or F-Secure...
