This is a relatively old vehicle, and like all old vehicles they eventually do develop problems when they are pushed beyond 10 years of age. French cars on the other hand, are on the scrap heap way before this.

It's annoying yes bit what I find worse is buttons that have multiple functions eg push once for this twice for that long push for something, or indicator storks that have 15 million functions and 25 million symbols on them

Like most things age comes with its own idiosyncrasies, but mine, 12 years old with 107 000km on the clock the only issues I have had is one wheel bearing replacement and one manifold pressure sensor, I kid you not that's it. Then I had an accident that broke most of everything but that's not the car's fault.

well at least it drove up to now, how did you cope with the length of the front doors?
when I had one as a rental, I kept trying to park not next to somebody to not scratch another car, those doors are a mile long...

another dumb design feature.

Yeah they are very long, and very heavy for some reason but it does look kinda good. I have a tight parking space with a wall on the drivers side, as a result they look like this, still need to figure out how I'm going to fix it as some are quite deep.

what about those reflectors with bumpers on them you buy at autozone?

car is so tiny, but the doors are so long, who thought that would be a good idea?

why cant they have gone with doors like the one Renault I once saw,

Those things look horrible.

Changing the door size would also have been very costly because its 3 new press tools to manufacture them just for the hatch because the other models all have the same smaller door.

But then again I do work for a company that manufactures components for the automotive industry and they spare no expense on design changes no mater how trivial. A certain customer pay's 20% extra for a component to have a small little groove machined in for cosmetic reasons, best of all the component is in the engine bay where nobody gives a fark.:crylaugh:

A Corsa B is a legend, what was badly made about it? Mine is tougherer than a Hilux, way over 200k kms, with a suspension that can carry a load of tiles without breaking a sweat. A proper NA 1.4 engine, less than 900kg kerb weight, it is a decent car, nothing wrong about it.

I love my 2002 1.6 bakkie. Im on 210000km and it keeps going. Apart from being an uncomfortable bumpy ride it is a perfect run-around and great for going on weekend trips to the municipal dump.
