What is wrong with men these days?

Well, considering that my last gf told me "I want to have some fun while I'm still young..." as an excuse for breaking up with me after her 1st year at varsity, I can see your point 100%.

In hindsight, she did me a favour.

We've discussed this and she was a complete retard. In fact, i think it may be safe to say that her gene pool is devoid of intellect / reason and maturity.

As a very broad generalisation (seems to be the standard basis for commentary in this thread) I have to wonder whether the question shouldn't rather be:

What is right with men these days?

Please feel free to answer legitemately and not take this as an excuse to throw insults and / or defensive rants.

What is right with men of today? They are definitely more in touch with their emotions which is great. Before, trying to have any sort of discussion about feelings was really difficult i find it a lot easier to talk to men about all this squishy stuff and they actually verbalise how they feel now. It's wonderful :) I love it!

And actually to be brutally honest here. I had a secret crush on Voicy a few years back. He did not even notice me and only saw me as a friend. So HA! It works both ways doesn't it. :D

Can I ask what is wrong with deciding to play the field when you are 19 or 20 and dumping your responsible boyfriend who wants a long term stable relationship? If she was truly a braindead idiot she would have cheated on him.

I can understand how it hurt at the time but it is years later and it's time to get over it. Sometimes people just want different things.

If anything this thread shows just how much people like playing the victim.

Hmmm i recall her being a little older than 20 but i could be wrong. Agreed to a certain extent that one can decide to play the field and she didn't cheat on him. But surely she knew a relationship was not what she was after? I feel she strung him along when all the while she knew she didn't want anything serious. You don't suddenly wake up one day and go 'damn i wanna have fun.'

So serqet you want a chick with a penis at the end of the day :p and pecks.

Oi no! I don't want a chick. We are completely irrational when it comes to emotion. But i do want a guy who is able to communicate on a deeper level than 'ya i dig you too babe'

Yea why? We are men and at the rate the gay population is going chicks are going to have fine gay men to have babies.

Men are evolving far too fast and will soon be as feminine as chicks :p, the interesting thing i read is that not all gay men are these super hot dudes anymore.

She was quite young (First year 'varsity.) and people can decide after a while that they want something different. Maybe she saw how much fun her friends were having and started feeling a little bit held back. Maybe Voicy started getting a little serious a little too quickly for her liking and she got a bit scared. There are so many reasonable explanations that don't leave her looking like a bad person. She was honest in the way she broke up and did not betray him in the relationship.

I know it sucks when someone breaks up with you but there doesn't always have to be a bad person and a victim in these scenarios.

Agreed BrendanD.

I unfortunately didn't really ever like the girl so i'm probably a little harsher than i would be in a normal situation.

Lol we know this to be true. We don't like admitting it but i'm mature enough to realise i have my moments where my bf's only response could be: WTF :D

*lol* - Doesn't bother me the least now. It's all School fees.

Nah - I appreciated the honesty (Quite ironic how the 1st time she was truly honest with me was when breaking up. But as I mentioned - she did me a favour)

You live, you learn.

It was a 1st proper relationship for both of us, I think that's what scared her most of all. I was lurking happily & not pushing for anything further as such (I was 22 at the time)

I'm still pretty sure she caved into pressure from the jewish family who didn't fancy her courting a gentile.

Agreed BrendanD.

You just have my back :)

*lol* shush. I'm terrible at catching hints :o

Besides, my loss eh?
