Nice to see him fight it out among Nokia users instead of the iPhone crowd. You can have him, good riddance. :p
 
Well some people on here seem to like quoting technical specifications without seeing what they actually mean when push comes to shove....

I could humour Piesang and go through each one of those points he so kindly quoted from GSMArena but he apparently feels that the main criteria when choosing a phone is how soon after it's release you can get it in your hands.

I could bore the people on this forum, who actually read more than their own threads, by re-quoting a lot of the discussion that happened on another thread about the N82 vs N96, but instead I think I will just point Piesang, and anyone else who would like to see how wrong he is, in the direction of this thread.

In fact in taking a closer look I see Piesang posted in that specific thread already, so it appears that the comments in here may just be an attempt to bump his own thread as most of this was covered already!
 
I said no N82's plaese.

When I upgrade to get a new phone I want a NEW phone. What is so difficult to understand about that? When I got my N95 in February 2007 it was the best phone for me. It still is one of the best. (And yes, lots of people then told me about how bad the N95 is and about all the "problems". Which I didn't experience) After a few months I saw the N82 was released. It was a NEW phone then but for the first time Nokia brought out a NEW phone that didn't pull my attention at all. Not looks, software or anything else.

The N96 is my next choice because I know it's better than the N95 and the N95 was great.

Uh nevermind. Didnt read the previous posts. Apparently a xenon flash is a MUST. Look I can totally understand you guys liking WM and touch screens an all, but seriously, it it really necessary for the everyday user?
 
ya xenon is lovely, if u plan to actually make use of it though
also i'm glad i never went for 6220, the WIFI is really convenient, check email and crap while u having coffee at Mugg and Bean :)

Just to clarify Piesang's post before he leads more people astray, those rankings he speaks of are visitors to the sites rankings! This is about as useful as asking someone on this forum "what phone should I get???".... you will get plenty of opinion but not much fact.

A: The current rankings reflect the preferences of the gsmarena vistors. "Phones by rate" is the average of all votes received by a given phone, no matter if they for design, features or performance. Only phones with more than 1000 votes are included in this ranking! "Brands by rate" is the average of all ratings of the phones of this brand. "Phones by interest" is just the count of the visits of the phone page, and "Brands by interest" is the sum of the visits of this brand phone pages plus the visits of the brand main page.

On a thread discussing the virtues of the N82 I attempted to provide some objective ratings based on expert reviews.... not opinions. Just thought I'd clarify this for those seeing the above and reading too much into it!

So in other words the input of other people doesn't mean anything? Maybe you should tell the visitors on GSMarena that they shouldn't waste their time voting for phones because it doesn't mean anything.

For me it means alot. It will help me decide in future what phone to get. Same with the poll I started on here as well. It will give me a idea of what to get but it doesn't mean that if the HTC HD or iPhone gets the most votes that I'm going to get it. At the end of the day I'm still going to take the phone that suits my needs.

Well said, the xperia is better than the N82 no watter which way you look at it anyway so I don't see the need to debate this one, qwerty wins hands down.
