What programming language should I learn?

Ok people I can already program the lego midnstorms nxt. I have started with dev c++ and delphi 7. Do you guys think its a good start?I find dev c++ very easy and user friendly.
 
I did JAVA in college and it gives one a very strong foundation, especially in OOP.
