Nope, I don't. If we turned that horse into a human and that human was my son, let's say, then even if he had one leg in a plaster caste I'd still hold hope, and give my 100% support, that he can win the 100m race he is due to partake in.
The strange thing is that is precisely the definition I would give to an optimist........
You'd have hope, not expectation. Your general tone gives an air of expectation that the players will go out and score 3+ goals when they have been unable to trouble the goalkeeper except for that lovely goal in the first game. I also hope they will progress, but I don't have any expectations of that event actually happening.
One more thing though... you'd let your son run in a 100m race while wearing a cast? I mean seriously... /shakes head
