What was your first car? I am hoping to get a 1300 citi golf. I need a small run around to practice driving in

Mazda 323 - One of the best cars I have ever had! It was as tough as nails - drove it from JHB to Pta without a clutch, many times without water, did a full 40 km of 4x4 terrain where friends had to get out and lift it off rocks etc. It just kept on going!

Saab 99 Turbo - old rally car that my stepfather owned complete with dual handbrakes. :D

After I rolled the Saab (patch of black-ice :() I got a Citroen 2CV - as you can see it was a real chick magnet. :D

My first car NEVER had water in it. I win :D

Air-cooled engines rock. And as for the backseats of a VW Kombi... *pleads the 5th* :D

beetle 1600, think it was a '73 or thereabouts...had the newer style taillights
drank petrol quicker than i could pour it in. absolute piece of **** german car.
fsck i hated that car.

grr. now you made me think of it again.

Fiat Uno.... from some year I can't remember...

Which I managed to right off and put an acquaintence in hospital.... Was an interesting afternoon.

1997 Hyundai Accent.
Still in service to this day.
In fact, it has been serviced but 3 times in all those years.

My Elantra on the other hand is [-]a lemon[/-] for sale!

1965 VW 1600S Type 3 Sedan (also called notchback)
Bought for R 400, which was a lot of money for a student in those days.
Later fitted with 2000cc bigbore kit and rollerbearing crank.
Written off against a Kudu in SWA.
I still miss that car.

My first was a Mk1 Golf GTS. Went like the clappers but eventually rusted away (thats Durban for you when you are always at the beach....)
